A Night At The Library-
I zoned out for a moment as I waited for the light to turn green. I took a brief moment to gaze up and into the sky, where the clouds were beginning to stack upon one another like legos. So far, it was a regular Tuesday in the middle of June and I was in the car on my way to the library in the town of Urbana, Maryland. Reason being was because that afternoon my friends Colin, Steve, Frank, Chad, and I were to hang out at the library and simply just spend a few hours chilling out and enjoying ourselves. I intended on using that time to go onto my laptop and get some work done that I needed to do. Colin was likely going to do roughly the same. I had absolutely not an idea of what people like Chad, Steve, or Frank were intending on doing. But I guess I was about to find out, as just then I found myself pulling on into the library parking lot. Colin, Steve, Frank, and Chad already happened to be there, waiting for me. I found it quite odd how Chad had already arrived, as he is one to usually be in no rush. The really weird part was how for other times we've all hung out like - the gym, for example, he's always been late and would usually be stumbling out of his red bro-vertible all groggy and such, despite it being one o'clock in the afternoon. All of us knew that Chad was a full-on pumpkin in the AM hours of the day, but you'd think that for someone who loves fitness and working out so much, that he'd be at least semi-energetic for the gym, but now that we're meeting at the library of all places he's up and ready to go, more enthusiastic than ever? The whole dynamic was pretty weird, but that being said - so is Chad, so I let it slide.
Anyway, I stepped outside and met up with everybody by the front entrance. The summer heat and humidity made it almost sickening just to be outside. Luckily, the library we were all about to journey into was graciously powered by a brand new Panasonic 2 Ton 5-Star, Wi-Fi Inverter, Smart Split AC unit.
"Ready for the bro-brary, bros?" Chad asked.
"Sure am," Colin answered. "I got a lot of work to do today, so this should be the perfect spot to kinda zone-in on it."
"Today, we will enrich our minds with plenty of exquisite knowledge, passed down by many wise bros from back in the old days. Afterall, it's vitally important to train our minds, not just our bodies, when it comes to the gainz," Chad mentioned. "And besides. Being out in all of this bro-heat tends to make the-"
"Yea, yea man," Steve interrupted. "Let's head inside the fuckin' library man, it be hot as a bitch out here!"
We all agreed and headed on inside. The library that we were at consisted of three floors in total. (that we knew of) The main entrance had us on the middle floor which was the 'kids' story of the building. It had just that - all of the children's books / dvd's were located on this floor. On top of that, there was also the main front desk, along with some tutoring / study rooms as well. The floor below that was referred to as the 'senior center' for old people. It had things such as a coffee lounge / reception room, a room for business meetings, along with a specialized 'newspaper room' as well, just so the old men can read the weekly headlines whilst sipping their cup of black coffee.
Then, there was the top floor. This was the floor in which we were intending on spending like ninety-five percent of our time on. Up there was the regular selection of books, genres ranging from non-fiction, to mystery, to realistic fiction. There were numerous chill and relaxing areas with desktops, desks overlooking the trees outside, quiet study rooms, as well as a comfy looking 'lounge area' that had all glass windows. It was quite the odd lounge however and the reason that I say this is because of the mysterious antique rolly arm-chair sat right in the middle of it. It was made out of what appeared to be some finely aged Detroit leather and had a headrest so that whoever sat in it would be completely hidden to others, given that they were facing the other way in it.
Anyway, the five of us all went upstairs and took it all in. The ceiling above the main stairwell area was all glass, allowing plenty of natural sunlight to illuminate the area. The stairwell was set in the middle of the library with a sort of 'indoor balcony' on top. This meant that you could peer down and see all the way to the bottom floor from the top. The whole height must've been at least like two-hundred and fifty feet! This only added to the relaxing and chill atmosphere of the place, although it was a tad unnerving to peek one's head over, if I was being totally honest.
Next, we all split up, going to do our own thing for the time being. Colin and I went and found ourselves a spot to work on our laptops. It was a big long desk in the back of the library, close to the lounge. It overlooked the woods down the hill towards an overgrown and sketchy looking pond.
