CHAPTER 3 OF 4

UNSINKABLE

The ship collides with the iceberg. Blocks of ice start to fall onto the deck.

Lucas quickly grabs Max's arm, "Max, look out!"

Max screams as the horrific loud sounds of the iceberg colliding with the ship, piercing the side, and the gigantic ice hitting the deck, all ring out in the air.

Multiple passengers look on, some in horror, others in excitement, as the ship collides with the ice.

Quickly, the ship comes to a stop.

Lucas and Max run forward towards the deck and look back at the iceberg.

"Oh god, Lucas... It hit the ice! It hit it!" Max screams.

Lucas grabs her shoulder, "Don't worry, Max! We're on the Titanic, remember? We're safe."

Max shakes her head, "I never believed that whole unsinkable thing!"

"Look, Max... Even if, IF, this ship starts to sink... A ship this gigantic, it would take hours. And I'm sure there's enough lifeboats. A ship this big, this important, you really think they wouldn't have enough lifeboats? Not just that, other ships will come and help us if it gets to that. We're gonna be ok." Lucas tells her.

Max takes a deep breath, "Ok, ok. We should go find our families. Yours first. Let me go with."

Lucas nods, "Ok... We'll find my family first, make sure they're ok, then we'll go find-"

"No... Not with you and Billy. If we do have to get on lifeboats, Lucas... I wanna get on with you," Max tells her.

"I appreciate that, Max, but if things start to get bad, your family deserves to know where you are," Lucas says.

"Then we'll find them on the boat that picks us up. But your family in Third Class is the top priority." Max tells him.

"Ok. We're gonna go down to steerage, find my family, Dustin and Will, and make sure they're ok and tell them what happened. If we need to get into lifeboats, we'll go together. All of us," Lucas tells her.

...

"Oh god!" Max yells as she looks down at the bottom of the stairs leading into the Third Class area.

There's water.

Lucas quickly runs down, his feet touching it, it piercing his dirty shoes.

"Oh god, it's cold!" Lucas yells.

Max steps into it, "It's freezing!"

He looks at her, "Come on, we have to find my family!"

Lucas and Max run throughout the third class hallways. Already, there's a panic. Various Third Class passengers are running around, panicking, trying to figure out where to go, trying to find their friends and family, not knowing what's going on.

Eventually, as they enter the hallway, they see Lucas' family.

"Lucas!" Charles yells.

"Father!" Lucas yells as he approaches him.

"Thank god you're ok, where were you?" Sue asks.

Charles then looks at Max, "Who is this?"

"This is Max, she's my, um... My friend," Lucas explains.

Charles sighs, "Ok, fine. Do you know what's going on?"

"Dad," Lucas says with fear in his eyes and voice, "We hit an iceberg! The fact that there's water down here..."
