1 - feelings

NAMI's POV ~~~~~>

God, my head hurts.
Why can't I just draw the damn map!

I thought as I slammed down my pen.
Honestly!!

I sighed and took deep breaths, calming down.
In my mind, I tried to find the problem on why I wasn't able to focus.
Then it hit me.

No way, I couldn't. I couldn't be unfocusing because of...Luffy??
No no! Thoughts of him are swooping in! Focus!
I scolded myself.

Why was I thinking of him so much! Ugh! Wait, why were my cheeks feeling hot, was I blushing...?

At that same moment, snapping me out of my thoughts, the door of my office suddenly barged open.
Turning around, no one other than my captain was standing there in the doorframe, showing his signature grin.

"Hey Nami! Watcha' doing??"
Luffy asked, curiously.

Looking at his face, mine immediately got red.
God! Why was I blushing?!

"Luffy..."
I growled.

"Yeah!"
He happily responded.
I jumped up from my chair and punched him in the head.

"Don't do that! You scared me! And I'm working, get out!"
I screamed, fire flaring around me.
He pouted saying:
Ouch! You didn't have to hit me and I didn't do it on purpose!!
My heart melted but before I literally swooned over him in real life, I scolded myself in my mind.

Oh gosh, he's so adorabl-wait what I am saying?? Keep your head in the game, Nami!!
You still aren't done with your map!

I sighed, turning around.

"I mean seriously do you have be so lou-AH!
I screamed in terror as I tripped on a random unhammered nail in a floor board, about to fall down.
Expecting me to fall, I closed my eyes.
But then I realized someone was holding my waist, steadying my body.

Open my eyes slowly, I was met with Luffy's worried face.

"You okay, Nami??"
He frantically asked.
I didn't respond, I was too distracted by his touch on my body. His hands on my waist, his face close to mine, which was definitely red and his doe eyes into mine.
Blinking a few times, I was in awed daze.

"Oh my god! Nami! You're all red, are you sick?!"

Hearing those words and realizing my situation, I shook my head, waving my hands in front of my face. I tried to stop him from checking my temperature but it was too late.

"L-Luffy, no u-uh, I'm fine!"

I felt his hands on my cheeks, as he felt for my temperature.

"Gosh! You're burning hot! CHOPPER!"
Luffy screamed.

"Luffy! I'm fine, I said I'm fin-FINE!"
I yelped as he suddenly picked me up over his shoulder.

"Uh uh, you're going to Chopper, you are not fine."
He stubbornly replied.
I must've forgotten how strong he actually is because he picked me up like I was nothing.

I rolled my eyes, defeated as Luffy literally sprinted towards the infirmary.

"She seems fine to me, it was probably just really hot in the room."

The small reindeer said, looking at the thermometer.
