CHAPTER VI - Rescue

Maya was pissed, she didn't know what to do, and even if she knew, she couldn't do anything. She's trapped by her own heart. And don't think it's a metaphor.

When someone uses magic to take someone else's heart, it becomes an amulet. Who has the heart controls it's owner. Maya it's there, where she was dropped. She looks around and takes a deep breath, trying to keep herself calm. She sits in the little board that supposed to be like a bed, when someone walks into the room. It's Emma, a blonde woman, sheriff, she's holding a paper bag in her hand while gets to the cell Maya's in.

— Hey, I thought you'd be hungry so I brought you some fries and a burger. Hope you like it. — Emma passes the bag between the bars and Maya looks at her, only saying "Thank you", even though she wanted to say so much more. Maya looks deeply to Emma. She now knows that who's holding her heart can only hear what Maya's hearing, so the only way for that girl to try to communicate is through her eyes. — It's nothing, have a good dinner. Don't try to escape, Harper...

She didn't notice Maya's helpless look, she just left. Maya then takes the food out of the bag and sights, eating.

Maya gets disapointed, walking in circles. — How am I going to explain that to them? They'll never get me. I mean, maybe something bad, but jail?! — Her voice starts to crack, the loneliness, the fear and the feeling of being away from home makes Maya only want to cry. — I can't believe I got into this. Look at me. "Way to go Peaches!" — She was pissed with the situation , ending up speaking the last phase a louder, and then she just fells her heart being tighten with anger, she feels like dying again, falling on the ground, sobbing in pain.

— Shit! Ugh! Stop stop stop! Please. This hurts so much, stop. — She sobs, and then suddenly te pain stops, making Maya she pull all the air she could get, then, after some seconds in silence, she just starts crying again, getting up. — I-I Don't know if I blame myself for the thighs I did now, or for the things I did in the past that got me here. Shit... — She walks to the cell bed and sits, hugging her legs. — I just want to go home... — After some minutes she just sleeps.

In the next morning she wakes up with Emma, who again, bought something for Maya to eat. Then David comes in and asks about Maya's first night, what she forcedly says it was great. Then after some time she watches all the Henry's talk, honestly, bored. Maya is not the "super perfect" style, she's actually the opposite. After the whole 5min of talking Henry looks at her, she notices and looks at him back. He approaches her.

"She trusts me and in my power to help her. She needs me.", ugh! Shut up and take a hint, Maya thinks, while looks at Henry, trying to get help. He looks at her and for a second make a confused face, did he notice? This is when his family starts to talk, what makes him run away. Maya just wished she could yell, or hold him there, but she was ordered by her to don't move.

I walk away from the room, after talking to my mom, with David and start to walk to where's Harper. When we get there David starts to talk. — Hi, Harper. It's okay if we have a quick talk? You won't be interrogated.

— Uhm, Yeah, why not? Everything to get me what I want. — Harper says and sight, folding her arms. David and I get closer to the cell and he grabs a note block and a pen. David then looks at me to start asking.

— Okay then, so... How was your night tonight, Harper? — I ask sitting with David in front of the cell. She responds calmly. — Peaceful. I got some dinner bought me, I lay down and got to sleep. Why?
