It feels much more fair to introduce myself properly in this tale, a chronicle rather than a conventional third-person point-of-view story. Therefore, shall we begin again?

Greetings, I'm Wil. Not the typical William, just Wil. I'm currently in my fourth year at Ravendale High School. As you might have discerned, I'm the drama club's secretary.

Now, you might be pondering how a reserved fellow like me wound up in such an intriguing club. Well, it's a tale I remember vividly, almost like it happened yesterday.

During my freshman year, there was a mandatory requirement for all students to select at least one club to join. My early attempts to join various clubs were met with rejection due to their full capacity.

I had considered joining the English club with my 'friends' too, but I had a change of heart, partly due to its overwhelmingly female-dominated membership. As fate would have it, I eventually found myself in the drama club, my last resort. Interestingly, it turned out to be a decent choice.

That year, the drama club welcomed just two new members: Farish and myself. The senior members were genuinely thrilled during our meet and greet session, as they hadn't welcomed any new recruits for the past two years. I can still recall the awkwardness I felt when introducing myself to the group.

As time passed, new freshmen joined the club, and I took it upon myself to recruit a few more members, a feat that surely brought pride to the senior members, considering I was only in my third year. It was during this period that I first crossed paths with Cheryl.

Honestly, my contributions to the club were minimal. I did some promotion, and though I wrote a few scripts, they never got used. I got overwhelmed by it all and stopped attending meetings for a few months.

Not much really happened until I hit the age of 16. That's when I moved up to the upper form category, and somehow, I ended up with the most votes, landing me in my current position. So here I am, lying on my bed, deep in contemplation.

The clock showed 2 in the morning, and I figured everyone else must be fast asleep. Yet, right then, a message from Cheryl popped up on my phone. Part of me contemplated ignoring it, but I couldn't resist and ended up responding to her text.

My phone's POV.

Cheryl: I know you're up.

Wil: Well, look who's here...

Cheryl: Oh, come on, I was right, wasn't I?

Wil: What's on your mind?

Cheryl: Nothing much, just bored. Mind chatting?

Wil: Sleep, you troublemaker.

Cheryl: Oh, come on, you're no fun! And I'm not a troublemaker, just your friendly junior.

Wil: Right, right. Talk to you later.

Cheryl: Hey, hold on! You can't just leave me hanging like that.

Wil: Fair enough. What's up then?

Cheryl: That's more like it! Just wanted some company, you know.

Wil: Alright, Cheryl. Cut to the chase. I'm being generous here by sticking around. What's really on your mind?

Cheryl: Fine... I just wanted to ask about the girl earlier.

Wil: If that's what you're curious about, I'd rather ignore you now.

Cheryl: Come on, don't leave me hanging like this. Just a little hint?

Wil: Seriously, Cheryl, there's nothing to tell. Time to sleep. Good night.

End of conversation.

I set my phone down and couldn't help but release a soft yawn, followed by a tired sigh. Oddly enough, I felt drained after texting her, but it was reassuring to know she hadn't disappeared after what happened at school today. Right now, all that filled my vision was the ceiling. The night was calm and chilly, offering a sense of peace.

After a short while, my eyelids grew heavier. My vision gradually blurred, and my body relaxed even more. It was time to drift into sleep. Soon, I lost track of everything, and my surroundings faded to black.
