"MOM??", exclaimed Scarlett, "Dad told me you were dead!!" Scarlett starts crying,
"Oh, my baby, your dad doesn't want you to know I'm alive, that's why you changed country and came back here, honey this is where we tried to kill those girls." Said her mom also crying,
"I know Mom, and I think they know-", Scarlett stopped speaking immediately, she just saw a group of boys walking near them.
The boys were walking towards the library to join their girlfriends, and they were talking at the same time. Scarlett left her mom standing and walked towards the boys.
"Hey boys, how are you all?", she said while flipping her hair",
"Oh, guys it's the pick- I mean the new girl Ophelia talked about", said a boy with blonde hair, green eyes,
"Oh, you know Ophelia?", she asked a little concerned that they knew her,
"Yeah, it's his girlfriend", said another boy with curly brown hair,
"Oh, so you have a girlfriend don't you want to break up with her for me?" said Scarlett holding his shoulder and smirking,
"Not even in a billion years, keep dreaming girl, guys let's go," he said removing her hand off his shoulder and walking off,
"I know you want me! Stop fighting it!!", she screamed in the hallway standing there alone.
The boys ignoring what she said walked to the library, the girls were sitting at their usual table chatting.
"MATHEW!!!" Said Ophelia falling into his arms, "What took you so long," she said noticing his disgusted face.
"There was this girl babe she touched my shoulder." He said hiding in Ophelia's arm looking disgusted, they all started laughing.
"Who was it though" asked Athena, "Because all the school knows not to touch Mathew, so either it's Scarlett or it's a girl who wants to die," said Athena thinking about who could dare do such a thing to her sister's boyfriend.
"Oh yeah, it was that Outlet girl or whatever she even told to break up with Ophelia to get with her instead", Mathew said looking more disgusted than ever, "She would never look like you Phel don't worry, okay?", said Mathew hugging Ophelia tightly.
"Yeah, I know but I'm sooo talking to that bitch, she will know not to mess with any of us," said Ophelia gently pushing Mathew away.
While the girls got out to find Scarlett as the group of boys walked away, Scarlett felt a mix of frustration and embarrassment wash over her. She had hoped to make a bold impression, but instead, she had only succeeded in alienating herself further.
Turning back to her mother, Scarlett felt a surge of guilt for leaving her standing alone. "I'm sorry, Mom. I shouldn't have walked away like that."
Her mother offered her a sad smile. "It's okay, Scarlett. You were trying to fit in. But sometimes, it's better to stand alone than to follow the crowd."
Scarlett nodded, taking her mother's words to heart. "I just wish I knew what to do now. Everything feels so complicated."
Her mother wrapped an arm around her shoulders, drawing her close. "We'll figure it out together, my dear. But first, we need to confront our past and make amends for the mistakes we've made."
Meanwhile, in the library, Ophelia and her friends were deep in conversation, unaware of the drama unfolding outside. As they laughed and chatted amongst themselves, the tension between them seemed to fade away, replaced by a sense of camaraderie and unity.
But when Scarlett's name was mentioned, the mood shifted, and the laughter died down. Ophelia's eyes flashed with anger as she recounted the encounter with Matthew.
"That Scarlett girl has some nerve," Ophelia said, her voice dripping with venom. "She thinks she can just waltz in here and steal what's mine."
Athena nodded in agreement, her expression darkening. "She's playing with fire if she thinks she can mess with us and get away with it."
Ever the strategist, Cassidy remained silent, her mind already working out a plan of action. "We need to teach her a lesson she won't forget," she said finally, her voice cold and calculated.
As the girls plotted their revenge, Scarlett stood outside the library, her heart heavy with regret. She knew she had made a mistake, but she wasn't sure how to make things right. All she could do was hope that she hadn't burned bridges beyond repair.
As Scarlett entered the library, she threw the doors open with a dramatic flair, drawing the attention of everyone inside. Ignoring the icy stares from Ophelia and her friends, she sauntered over to their table, her expression cocky and defiant.
"Alright, ladies, let's cut to the chase," Scarlett said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I know you're all just dying to hear what I have to say."
Ophelia rolled her eyes, her patience wearing thin. "And what exactly do you have to say that's so important?"
Scarlett smirked, relishing the opportunity to get under their skin. "Oh, nothing much, just that I'm here to apologize for the inconvenience of being in your presence," she replied, her tone laced with mockery.
The other girls exchanged incredulous glances, unsure of how to respond to Scarlett's audacity. Athena narrowed her eyes, her temper flaring.
"You think this is a joke, Scarlett?" Athena snapped, her voice sharp with irritation.
Scarlett shrugged nonchalantly, unfazed by Athena's anger. "Hey, I'm just here to offer my sincerest apologies for disrupting your little clique," she retorted, her smirk widening. "But if you'd rather I leave and spare you the agony of my presence, just say the word."
Ophelia's jaw clenched, her frustration mounting with each passing moment. "You know what, Scarlett? You're right. We don't need you here," she declared, her voice dripping with contempt.
With a dramatic flourish, Scarlett turned on her heel and headed for the door, her head held high despite the tension crackling in the air. "Well, it's been a pleasure, ladies. Don't miss me too much," she called over her shoulder, relishing in the opportunity to ruffle their feathers.
As she stepped out into the hallway, Scarlett couldn't help but smirk to herself. She may have just made things worse for herself, but at least she had the satisfaction of knowing she hadn't gone down without a fight. When Scarlett was walking down the hallway to her dorm room, she heard her name being called by the speakers of the school the principal was calling her.
She suddenly started shaking, what did she do that made the principal call her in her office? She didn't know but hoped it wasn't because of what just happened.
