〖 YUEYANG 〗

As they ventured through YueYang, the stones beneath their footsteps harmonized in a comforting cadence, offering a soothing crunch beneath the soles of their shoes. Meanwhile, [Y/n] luxuriated in the refreshing zephyr crafted by her gracefully undulating fan, its dainty motions not only caressing her flushed cheeks but also fanning the flames of her eager anticipation. The soft curve of [Y/n]'s lips formed a gentle smile, mirroring the serenity that radiated from her eyes. The thoroughfares of Yueyang bustled with a teeming crowd, where stall owners fervently touted their wares. Vibrant displays of colorful fabrics and exotic spices adorned their stalls, creating a sensory tapestry that beckoned passersby. With an exuberance reminiscent of playful children, the sellers weaved through the crowd, eagerly approaching individuals in an attempt to capture their attention and entice them with the allure of their goods.

Wei Wuxian found himself in a similar situation, with a purveyor offering him a sample of Dichroa Red Yueyang wine. The man extended samples of the exquisite concoction to those who would graciously lend an ear to his compelling sales rhetoric, offering to anyone who would spare a moment to listen to his persuasive sales pitch. Wei Wuxian, ever the aficionado of wines, indulged in the offered samples with gusto. An ear-to-ear grin adorned his face as he swept his tongue across his lips, savoring every nuance of the exquisite flavor, leaving no trace behind. Despite his initial intent to procure a jar or two, when Lan Wangji signaled to move forward, Wei Wuxian swiftly matched his pace. At one point, he even reached for Lan Wangji's robe, but a cautionary look from Lan Wangji prompted him to retract his hand with haste. His eyes locked onto Wei Wuxian, the icy gaze cutting through her like a thousand razor-sharp blades. "Where are we going?" inquired an unfazed Wei Wuxian, his arms tucked behind his back. Lan Wangji, with a stoic demeanor, responded in a gruff and plain manner, "I'm going to look for gentry families residing here." Wei Wuxian paused, his lips parting to question, "Why should you look for them? I'd say you'd handle things poorly if it weren't for me. Even if you find them, you won't get what you want." [Y/n], with a derisive snort, interjected, "Then, pray, how should Lan Wangji approach this task?" Wei Wuxian hummed, his eyes darting across the surroundings. A sly smirk gradually curled on his lips as they landed on a particular building. "You should go to that place," he suggested, pointing towards a wine house.

[Y/n] sighed, murmuring under her breath about the improbable likelihood of discovering valuable information in such a place. Despite her reservations, she acknowledged that Wei Wuxian's unconventional methods often yielded unexpected results, reluctantly agreeing to give it a try. Jiang Cheng, with crossed arms, pointed out, "You just want to drink." Wei Wuxian clicked his tongue, adopting a pouting expression. "Wrong. I, Wei Wuxian, always separate business from pleasure. Think about it. There are a lot of people here, talking all at once. If something weird happened, then they must have seen or heard it. You already have the gift of the gab." he added, playfully bumping shoulders with Jiang Cheng. Immersed in contemplation, she assumed a pensive stance with one hand elegantly resting on her hip. Her thumb and pointer finger delicately pinched her chin, forming a thoughtful gesture. Eventually, she broke the silence, uttering, "When you phrase it in that manner, it does indeed make sense." Wei Wuxian's grin widened, his hand gently grazing her waist before seamlessly sliding around her from behind, effortlessly pulling her back to his side. In a whispered confession that carried a tender affection, he murmured into her ear, his voice sending a subtle shiver down her spine, "I had a feeling you would understand."
