Picking up where I started.

Come to my rescue.

I awaken by the sound of my dad cooking down stairs, so I arise and rushed down to say good morning.

My dad looks at me and had his arms wide open"oh how is my girl?" He hugged me

I didn't wanna tell him about what mom had said to me that night,he's been trying to talk some sense into her for some time now.

"I'm good pops,what's cha making ?"I say with my hands on my hip and my head slightly titled.

He claps "well I tried something new,crepe cakes or pancakes ion know crepe something."

I smile and nod "oh I seen these on an asmr mukbang channel I watch."

He looked unimpressed "I forgot those existed, I don't like it. Why watch you eat while I starve?" He chuckled

I nod in agreement "you know what your right,but at-least I can imagine eating that good to get me through the night." I took a seat at the table in the dinning room.

He came over and placed the food in-front of me, we prayed and then we ate.I love my dad, he is a pretty cool pastor. In fact he let the dance team perform hip hop dance to some gospel rap, this year. I was so excited that I joined, we still have to practice but I say we are doing a pretty good job so far. After I finish eating I go back up stairs and put on my uniform for school,I dart back down and gave my dad a kiss on the cheek. My mom was at work so I didn't have to speak to her. I got in my car and left.

As I arrived at school I seen some familiar faces ahead of me,causing me to slow down. But it was to late,they had seen me. Before I knew it they were coming towards me.

I stopped in my tracks,trembling. I didn't wanna see them, I didn't wanna talk,I was in fight or flight mode now. What was I gonna do? I was about to make a run for it until I heard a voice calling me.

"Hey Aaliyah!" I heard him say causing me to turn around. I took a sigh of relief as I rushed over to him.

"Hi! Um let's walk fast,gotta burn them breakfast calories." I took Malachi's hand and rushed off taking him by surprise.

He looked confused but I didn't wanna explain, just yet at least. We got inside and I hit the corner to not be seen, I peeked over to look at the door and saw they had left. I forgot who I was with in that same moment,and caught a glimpse of a face who still looked confused from the corner of my eye. I slowly looked at him. "Sorry." I laughed a bit nervously

He shook his head at me "um nah it's good,but what's up?"

I just look at him,sayin nothing wouldn't do me any good "I'm just trynna get away from someone,no big deal."

He nods slowly "mhm..hiding from the opp."

He gave a small smile and I shake my head "what does Opp even mean,like I know but what is it really?"

He looked puzzled but didn't make me feel stupid for asking. "Opponent or rather your enemy."he said in such a soft tone.

I widen my eyes "oh wow that makes a lot of sense." I start walking to class now with him at my side.

He sniffed and glanced at me "so can I know who the Opp is so that I can watch out?"

I look at him. "What ? No."I say plainly.

He shrugged "okay but if I'm talking about you and say your name,and someone starts ease dropping I don't wanna hear it. Especially when a rumor starts."

I rolled my eyes at him "man,whatever." We walked into class and I see his boys sitting there eyes wide open. They looked like they seen a ghost,but at the same time happy to see one.
