"Malachi!" I said as I chased after him
He seemed to look over his shoulder as he headed to the kitchen,he stopped and looked at me with a smile.

I was confused by this action."Malachi I'm sorry I-" and before I could continue he shook his head

"Don't worry about it,honestly I'm not judging you it's your life." He seemed to not want to pay any mind  to the situation.

"I didn't mean to lie,the party is laid back." I tried to cover for myself.

He looked at me with such kind eyes his skin glowing, his eyes were light brown and wonderful to gaze into.

"No you didn't lie, your right on that part it's just. The home on the inside is laid back but the outside not so much." And when he spoke those words I felt as though he was speaking to me, referring to me as the home.
I felt so embarrassed of myself,I couldn't take it.

I got a bit angry "just listen Malachi,I don't normally do this sort of stuff."

He sat there understanding "hey I mean I'm not sayin that you do,you prolly just got caught up in the moment I get it."

I looked at him and looked down "right.." did he not know? Has no one told him about the pastors daughter incident? I can't believe how understanding he was. Everyone else never treated me like this, ever.

Malachi had his hand out, I looked at him questioning and took it." What?" I say before he pulls me to the front yard "I think we should leave and actually have fun." He smiled at me as he opened the car door for me

Before I could speak he knew my next thought. "You may be asking where, well let's go see the city lights."

I smiled at him and agreed I got in and drove off.

End of p.o.v

I was driving and saw a boba shop coming up I looked towards the side of the road debating asking her." Do you wanna get some boba first ?" My question took her by surprise but she happily agreed and with that I was pulling into the parking lot.

We got out and I opened the door to the shop for her,she walked in and her scent catches my nose. I didn't realize I had taken a big inhale of it, I walked beside her and got to the counter.

"So, what would you like?" I ask her peering down at her,she took a minute to think.

"I want pistachio almond with sea salt foam on top." She looked up at me.

I nod and seeming as she didn't tell the worker she wanted me to speak for her in that moment,in which I did.
I order our drinks and we sit down, she's looking down at the floor and I could tell she was feeling guilty. I move my hands to wave them around "hey..hey earth to Aaliyah."
She looked up at me

"Sorry what's up?" She tilts her head to the side.

I take a minute to think about what I was actually gonna say "you know today I almost cursed an old man out." I blurted out,out of all topics.

She sat there staring before a smile crossed her lips "what did the old man do?"

"He kept yelling at me that he didn't wanna be seen and he was only there cause his daughter set the appointment up." I stare back "not to mention I already got yelled at cause I mixed up a few appointments." I look down at the table.

She nods slowly "ah..so he had you irritated."

I nod taping the table with my fingers before fixing my eyes back on her "yeah but I just went to the back room and prayed, because I didn't wanna say anything I did not mean."

She leaned on the table "what do you do for work?" She frowns

"I'm a medical receptionist, as far as what I do for work for the lord I preach on the street, evangelism.
