Seperation

It has been months since Malachi has been recovering,he was able to walk now with out his wheel chair,he started going to school online but switched over to in person. Today was his first day back for his second year.

Phil my dad, was helping me pack a lunch this afternoon because I forgot to make one this morning for school. I still can't eat certain things so buying a lunch from school wasn't an option anymore.

My mom Sasha has been living with us all this time, it made my heart cheer up because I have not seen my mom and dad so close to each other before. After all the messy divorce situations iv been brought in, it's nice to see peace be restored in this family.

I never prayed to God about my family coming back together before, but God listens to the small stuff in your heart as well. With that being said he restored peace upon my mom and dad,and for that I am forever grateful.

Now I am on my way to school but before I could head out the door my mom came rushing over.

"OH SON! Don't go!" She cries out hugging me tight and pulling me down to her level.

"Mom I have to go-" I tried to escape but she only pulled back harder.

"Promise me you will be safe" she then let go

"Do we have to do this every time I step out the door?" I smiled at her "I will be safe I promise" I turn the knob on the door and walked out heading to my car.

Some time later I made it to school,I parked my car and got out. I looked around but all of a sudden my vision was knocked to the ground once I was ambushed by my friends.

Mike and Kevin my two best friends who were with me all throughout my healing journey.

"Malachi ! What's up man" mike says as be hugged me before grabbing my bags to help carry.

"Sup, how yall find me already ?" I laughed

Kevin showed me his phone "we have your location bro"

I frowned a little "did I give you that?"

Mike looked around and so did Kevin, trying to ignore what I asked they started walking me to the schools entrance.

Kevin clears his throat "so anyways this is the last year man we boutta be phlebotomist, we start the externships soon!"

I have a small smile "I wonder if the people at the hospital will be nice or rude to us newbies"

Mike scoffs " even if they are they better show some respect, I don't like when they trick newbies or be rude to em"

Kevin nods and looks the other way, as he does I see a mark on his neck. It wasn't a hickey because it was far too bruised. I knew he was struggling at home but I dont know how to bring up helping him yet.

I ignored what I saw, we made it to class and we found our seats. I looked over to where Aaliyah used to sit,as a matter of fact where is she ?

I pulled out my phone and began texting her "hey where are you?"

A few moments later I get a text back

"I'm at home why?"

I frown. "You weren't coming to school Today?"

It took 20 minutes for her to text back

"Oh no I'm not I'm busy today but we will catch up later ?" That was her final message

I was confused but I let it go.

I forgot that today was the first day of school, I wasn't going. I had to stall for a moment to think about what I was going to say. Will I tell the truth or come up with lies.
