On passing the girl watched with vengeful eyes, the haunted emotionaless look was enough to make even the strongest men shiver and the girl whom she was staring at removed her gaze, chills running up her spine as the taxi passed by.
The wicked layed her trap, the hunted fell, leaving vengeance in it's wake.
The girl emptied the contents of her cup into her hand, curling the only reminder, of the only person who truly cared for her, in her hand, a small vile of burnt ash, she kissed it and placed it into her back pocket. Kicking Claytons limp foot, while his services were useful he was a loose end, she stepped over his corpse and concentrated on her next task.
Katie's P.O.V
Following a theory I had suspected, I went to the forensics lab, signing in and nodding to Macey, a member of the C.F.U (California Forensics Unit) and a good forensics anylast that I worked with on occasion, when the evidence was overwhelming and I needed a helping a hand.
"hey I'm just signing out for some late Chinese want anything?" she asked taking off her lab coat and replacing it with her own. I smiled but declined the offer.
"sorry I've got some evidence I need to analyze, but some other time maybe"
Macey laughed. "I'll hold you to that" she warned. "don't work too late ok? I know what your like, call me if you need anything"
"of course" I smiled and she left. I took the evidence from my coat and removed the cotton swab. If I was correct this sample would contain more then one blood type proving a theory I thought off on the way here. I cut of a thin slither of cotton, with a scalpel, placed it inside a glass vile and set the machine in motion. While I waited for the results I cut off another thin slither and placed it on a microscope slide, using a stain to make the image sharper. I covered the evidence with a cover slip and clamped it to the microscope, viewing it first at x10 then at x15 then at x40. The cells were swollen and the nucleus was torn in places confirming my original theory the blood was frozen then thawed out. This wasn't a cover up that I led director Shepard to believe. It was clear to me, that whoever planted this blood wanted my attention and what a way to gain it!, I almost felt like applauding them, almost. Whoever did this, murdered more then one person to get this blood. There was no way this person would have gotten blood from a hospital it would leave a paper trail and they were smart. The gunshots must have been an attraction, a witness, which in turn would grab my attention. So either they didn't mind blood or hired some one to do it, most likely the latter then they tied up the loose ends by killing the hired help.
The computer dinged, signaling the results were ready, I looked at them, two matches identified, Ab and A+. Whoever the hell this intellectual was, they had my God damn attention!
