An (im)perfect life

Part 6 - another day ?

I went to pick up Candice like every other day but I got there a bit early when I heard Candice and her mother screaming at each other. From what I could gather her mom hit her little brother for accidentally nocking over something. And that wasn't part of the deal. And after a little while of screaming I heard a slap and then absolute silence. So I went in through the back door and I found candice on the kitchen floor with her two little brother looking over her, I couldn't see her parents anywhere. So i took her to my car and I took the boys with me. I took her to my house my parents where at work so no one would see us and I got her cleaned up and put a movie in the living room for the boys. When candice woke up and was better I told her that this needed to stop on both sides. She agreed with me. So we came up with a plan
- we get jobs and save all the money
- when we get enough we'll get an apartment
- we wait a while before we move in to try and get as much money as we can
- we move in slowly so our parents don't notice
And after that we will try to get emancipated or something like that.
The next day we went job hunting the only place we could get something was at the local supermarket so we took the chance and I would also babysit whenever I could to get som extra cash.
We where just holding on for the moment.
