It was a monday. And there was morning volleyball practice. Hinata happened to "accidentally" pull an all-nighter due to a second season of his favorite J drama coming out. He hides it from everyone, but he has a mild obsession.
It was 5:30 when his alarm went off, and it took him a good 10 minutes just to open his eyes. Then, another 20 minutes to get ready and almost eat breakfast.
Then he checked the time.
"SHIT I GOT 20 MINUTES TO GET TO SCHOOL"
So then he rushed to his bike, ignoring his stomach begging him for food, and cycled his little heart out until he finally got to school.
'Please dont say im late, please dont say im late, ' He thought as he spedwalked to the gym .
"YOU'RE LATE." Coach Ukai yelled.
"and you look miserable." Tsukishima trailed, causing mostly everyone to glare at the blonde boy.
And of course, Hinata bowed and apologized over a million times, acting as if hes pleading in court. Not long after, though, practice went on like normal.
But Hinata couldn't rid the feeling that he was being stared at. The whole time.
After what seemed like ages to the ginger, practice finally came to an end. And he sluggisly grabbed his bag and left the gym, not knowing someone was trailing behind him.
"Hey dumbass." Kageyama half-yelled, causing Hinata to jump out of fear.
Hinata turned around
"Could you maybe let me know you're following me next time? It would save me a heart attack." The red head replied
"It's not my fault you got no sleep. maybe next time, set up a bedtime for yourself. "
"And what made you think i got no sleep??"
"Dude, you look like you died a week ago,"
"Hes not wrong!" Hinata heard Tsukishima say behind him, only to turn around to see him and yamaguchi hanging out by the vending machines.
'The nerve of these people!' Hinata thought 'eavesdropping and commenting on my appearance'
"Well, if you're gonna be like that, then im leaving. Good day, Kageyama."
"Wait!" The taller boy yelled as Hinata started to walk away.
"What?" the shorter boy answered, annoyed as he turned around.
Kageyama paused, then continued
"....Did you eat breakfast today?"
"Um, no, why?" Hinata asked.
Kageyama reached into his bag to pull out a granola bar.
"Just take this. Your stomach was growling all practice." He said as he held the bar out with his one hand while looking anywhere but in the other boys' eyes.
What was this? Was Kageyama being nice?!?!?
"Oh, um, thank you." Hinata procceded to smile to himself as he grabbed the granola bar. Chocolate chip was his favorite.
"Did watch the new show ive told you about?" Hinata and Kageyama paused. Both being able to hear the girls that are right by them, but still being nervous from the raven heads gesture.
"The gay one? Just an episode or two. I couldn't bare to watch the sex scene. How do guys even do that stuff?"
Hinata and Kageyama paused in surprise while eaves dropping. They knew it was wrong, but what the hell were they talking about?
"If you watched it, you would know.. Hey, why do the they kinda look like those boys over there.." one of them said, clearly pointing at the awkward duo
'What? Are they talking about us?' Hinata thought in his mind, glancing at Kageyama to see that he is just as confused as he is.
"Wait, imagine if they're a couple."
Now this caught them both by surprise. Kageyama turned a bright red while Hinata went completely pale.
"Girl, you can't just say that." They really shouldn't have.
"Omg, they're looking right at us" They would be if they werent losing their minds
"SHIT" The two girls ran as fast as they could, leaving the two, now practically dead boys alone.
"um-"
"wow, just wow" Tsukishima said as he put his hand on Kageyamas shoulder, while yamaguchi trailed behind him.
"So, are they wrong?"
"W-what are you talking about?!?" The ginger (horribly) tried to pretend as if the girls were nonexistent!
"That you're a couple, arent you?" Yamaguchi sheepisly replied
"W-WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUR????" Kageyama half-yelled, finally processessing what had happened, causing the beanpole and the greenhead to snicker as they started walking away.
"Dont get too heated you two, wouldnt wanna get expelled for canoodling on campus!" Tsukishima saying mockingly, yamaguchi bursting into laugher immediately after.
As expected, Hinata and Kageyama ran opposite directions after being left alone, Hinata soon realizing that he has to go the same way as kageyama, due to the fact that they have the same class together.
Hours passed by and Hinata couldnt get the thought out of his mind. Did they look like a couple? Of course not they're both guys. The girls were just being weird. Lunch passed, but Hinata purposefully had his headphones in and ate behind a trash can behind the school, hoping people would get the memo that he didnt wanna talk to anyone.
And before the red head knew it, class was over.
So, he ran out of class, avoiding social interaction with everyone (for once) , and biked home while his mind ran.
'What even is being gay? I've only ever thought about girls until now? Wait, what do i mean until now? I only think about girls still! Kageyamas, my friend, and so happens to be good-looking!'
"WHAT" He yelled, being caught off guard by his own mind
Hinata accidentally pressed the brake out of shock and crashed into a bush in front of a bunch of old ladies. That did NOT go well for him embarrassment wise.
Soon enough, he was home and made himself his favorite food, egg on rice. But not even food could distract him
'theres nothing wrong with pointing out beauty! If kageyama were a girl, i would find him pretty.. With his hair, and his blue eyes, and his toned body..' He spit out his food realizing he wasnt imagining Kageyama was a girl, but rather as his normal self.
And before he knew it he was twisting and turning in bed, not being able to get a certain person off of his mind.
'He does have a nice face, oh, and he smells like coconut. I could ask someone about this. Wait, what would the team think? All they ever talk about is girls. They've never even brought up the subject of liking guys' Hinata sighed in defeat before remembering something his upperclassmen said from a month ago.
