Background: John Grimm Blazkowicz is the son of the Doom Slayer, but his birth was not natural by any means. John is in fact a clone of the Doom Slayer, born and bred in a laboratory in a secret UAC facility. After being sent away by Dr. Samuel Hayden and after bringing back VEGA, the Doom Slayer would stumble upon the UAC facility after acquiring the Fortress of Doom. Once inside, VEGA explained the purpose of the facility before finding John as a newborn inside of an artificial womb. This is when the Doom Slyer found out that they had cloned him but mixed his DNA with three other species he was familiar with, effectively making the newborn a hybrid of four races. When VEGA suggested that they destroy the baby due to it possibly being a threat, the Doom Slayer did to opposite and decided to take the child for his own. When he took a baby out of the artificial womb, John's newborn cries caused something to shift in the Doom Slayer's heart, something he hadn't felt in a long time ever since he lost his own wife and son to the hordes of Hell. Paternal instincts took over and the Slayer decided to name his 'son' John Grimm Blazkowicz, named after he great-grandfather.
