Jazel's pov

Hello
I'm Jazel and I have a little sister named Anna she's 10 years old and we are pretty close since my dad died and my mom is always at work. When she's home she just goes to her room and does more work on the laptop.

"Jazel dinner is ready" I hear my little sister Anna call out from down stairs

"Going" I yell I had bearly finished my home work and decided to use my phone for a while

I walk down the stairs finally taking my eyes of my phone halfway down.I felt my phone Buzz, I looked down at it and saw it was a text from my best friend Chelsea

We met in first grade. She had to go restroom and the teacher made me show her the way. I used to not like her the first 5 minutes until I pointed to the restroom and said "There" then she smiled and said thank you. I never really had friends because I didn't want none but when I saw her smile at me I felt so happy , it was the first time someone smiled at me. And from there on we started being friends.

Anyway...

I unlocked my phone

Chelsea: Hey what u doing

Me: About to eat I'll text you later

Chelsea: ok byeee

Me: Bye

"Anna bring me a cup of soda" my mom yelled from her room

"Going" She filled out a cup and put in four pieces of ice. I waited for her to leave, then I ran towards the pan to see what my mom had made

She had made some rice with beans and some tortillas I poked the rice then licked what was left on my finger

Anna had came back I filled a plate with a lot of rice and and a little bit of beans for me, and I put a little bit of beans and a little bit of rice in Anna's plate since she didn't eat much. She was the total opposite of me

"Here" I said sliding the plate across the table giving it to her

"Thank's" she said

We where both sitting at the table in silence for the first few minutes

"So how was school?" I asked with a mouth full of tortilla

"Good"

"Oh" I said playing with the beans on my plate

"Ihhhhhh" I heard Anna suck in some air "Jazel, Jazel, Jazellllll"

"Yes?" I said giving her the 'weirdo' look

"We are going to do a muffin bake sell for girls scouts and I wanted to go but our leader Mrs.Diaz said we can only go if an older sibling or an adult comes with us"

"Oh that's nice so what did mom say?" I asked obviously clueless about what she was really saying

"Mom said she can't come, but anyways I didn't want her to come that's embarrassing" she said shaking her head in realieve

"Tell me about it sis in fourth grade She went with me for my birthday and she made a power point with all my baby pictures and she had one where I was just in diapers" that was so embarrassing that even my teacher laughed at me good thing that was three years ago and hopefully no one remembers anymore

"Was dad in any of the pictures?" She asked her voice sounding sad

"Yes" I said filling a big knot on my chest when I heard her ask that
