5 minuets on the ride home
"Amelia, are you okay? You look a little... sick." Amelia's mom, Mrs. LaFosse looked over and asked in concern. "Mom I feel fine jeez." Amelia said and rolled her eyes at her moms question, because yeah, she felt a little sick but she didn't want her mom to be right, you know teen-agers and their beef with there moms. Her mom gave her a small sigh and a simple okay and left it at that not wanting to upset her daughter anymore. The rest of the ride home was silent besides the radio volume on a low. The awkward silence was very apparent between her and her daughter but they chose not to address it because like come on who would?... crickets exactly. When they finally made it home amelia got up and slammed the car door rushing off to her room to lay under her blankets with her favorite sleep playlist on, come on let her be emo just a little. It was around eight o'clock and when her mom came to tell her supper was ready she found her daughter was fast asleep and just let her sleep, because it was the first week after break and wasn't everyone a little tired? "Omg what is wrong with me?" Her skin was a pale yellow with a hint of grey, her eyes were starting to look like she had pinkeye, and there was a random cut in her face. Amelia decided to put a very heavy layer of foundation and a sweatshirt on so that way her friends didn't notice anything. Mrs. LaFosse knocked on her daughters door, "Amelia honey, I know yesterday you said you were okay but I would really like to take your temperature." Mrs.LaFosse was looking at her daughter with kind and worried eyes. "Mom please no I really feel fine please don't take it." Amelia said not exactly looking at her mom so she couldn't see all of the makeup. "No Amelia this isn't up for discussion I am taking in!" So Mrs. LaFosse put the thermometer up to Amelia's mouth and next thing you know, Amelia gave her Moms finger a chomp for no apparent reason. If someone asked Amelia why she did it she couldn't tell you, she just did. Her mom's eyes widened with anger and shock and she yelled. "Fine Amelia, go to school but I don't want to hear you complain about feeling sick during the day and that you want to go home! Go get in the car we are leaving." Mrs. LaFosse slammed her daughter's door and went out to the car. Amelia huffed
