Unknown POV:
I roamed the dark and empty halls, itching to be in my bed at this moment.
I tug on the collar of my jacket hogging all of the warm air that is imprisoned within. My breath turning to nothing but steam once in enters the chilly atmosphere.
I look at the time, it reads, "11:59" my shift ends in one minute, if I'm going to do this, i have got to be quick about it.
My speed increases ever so slightly as i reach the hallway to the lobby. I peek round the corner out of habit before remembering that there's no other guards around at this time of night.
I walk over to the water fountain and see a bunch of glittering coins at the bottom of the crystal clear water, i reach my hand into the water, flinching at how cold the temperature is and bring out a handful of said coins and stare at the sight.
moonlight filtering in from the skylight creating various pattens on the marble floor, with the fountain in front of me trickling its translucent liquids over the white marble fountain ledge into the main bowl.
I stare at the coins i picked up, all equally as beautiful with their own unique designs, but one stands out the most.
It's a golden coin with various patterns engraved on the front. I flip the coin over to see logo hidden in a large swirl but before i could take a good look at it the room went dark.
The moonlight clouded. The fountain stopped trickling, and if it were possible, the room got colder.
I looked around blinded by the darkness and then i heard footsteps. I pulled out my gun and aimed it blindly. "come out or i shoot!" I yell.
I turn around in circles trying to figure out where they are when a voice echoes in a deadly whisper "oh, there's no need for that," an emotionless laugh booms across the area.
A faint glow appears right in front of me revealing a figure. "Put your hands on your head" i order, but the man just stands still grinning like a madman.
The man had raven black hair and emerald green eyes that looked like they could burn a hole through your body just looking at you.
"Who are you?" I question, wavering my stance in an attempt to cover up my fear.
I had no idea how this man even entered the highly formidable security. The man took a step forward. Then another one, and another one. Soon enough he was right in front of me.
"Who am i?" He whispered. "Why, i am the consequence of your actions." He whispered so softly that i had to strain my ears to be able to hear his angered words.
That was my first mistake, for while i was watching his mouth, his hands took a dagger and plunged it into my abdomen.
I stumbled back, dropping my gun. I was in so much shock that i made my second mistake, i dove at the intruder.
The blood kept running and eventually i collapsed. I stared at my murderer, his coldhearted stare looking down on my dying body.
I picked up my gun. The warm sticky liquid running down my arms didn't even faze me, for i had only one objective.
Neutralize the threat. Bang!
A/N and there's the prologue! Who is the mysterious person that showed up? Why was he so interested in some coins? Read on to find out!
