Tanya's POV:

I listen closely for a moment and the sound of hooves hitting the floor made me dash to the East of me. That's gotta be deers.

I get into a small clearing where I find a herd of deers sniffing and eating. They all froze and looked up probably sensing me.

Suddenly they run off as a figure running through the clearing and they're headed straight for me. My lip curls as I let out a warning snarl and they stop abruptly just a few feet from me with a big basket in their hands.

"You're trespassing in our territory," I warn whoever is under that hood. It's not the Volturi because they would have their logos imprinted on their cloaks.

"I'm sorry. Are you allies with the Volturi?" It's a woman. Why would she ask me that?

"No. My coven and I try to stay clear of them," I answer carefully and tense as I watch the figure push her hood down revealing a blonde human. A blood drinker.

Why is she all the way out here in the woods? "You don't know me but I've heard of you. Animal drinkers. I'm looking for a woman named Tanya Denali. Is that you? Or do you know her?" She hurries out in a southern accent as she bounces the basket softly.

What could she possibly want from me? "I am Tanya Denali. What do you want?" I announce and crossed my arms in Kate's words my coven leader stance.

"This is a lot to explain in just a little bit of time. I have everything in here to explain," she quickly says before getting cut off by a loud howl in the distance.

Is that? No it can't be. They went extinct. The woman's eyes widen in fear and she thrusted the basket into my hands. "Please take care of them. Love them and protect them as your own. Please I beg of you. Teach them to be loving and kind," she hurries and tells me before taking the blanket off the of the basket then ran off in a hurry.

I'm left gobsmacked at what just went down. I look down in the basket and pull the small sheet down that's covering whatever is in the basket.

Right away two pairs of crystal clear blue eyes connect with mine. Something in me snaps into place like my sole purpose is to protect these two babies with my whole life.

Another loud howl rings out but it sounds farther now. I carefully put the small sheet down to cover the two again before I shed off my jacket to drape it over the basket so they won't be too cold and it will mask their scent with mine then I clutch the basket to my body carefully and sped home quickly.

What did that woman mean to keep them safe? Those werewolves must be after them. I will protect them with my life.

Once I reached the end of the tree line, I see my home. Thank god. I sped straight for the front door and barrel through it.

Luckily I didn't break it. "Guys! Guys!" I call out in a panic and set the basket down on the coffee table. Multiple hurried footsteps came towards me and my coven shows up into the living room with a concerned look.

"What's going on?! Are you hurt?" Carmen exclaims in concern and stepped closer while setting her hands on my arms.

Crying made all of us turn our attentions to the basket. Oh no. I sped towards it and threw off my jacket then softly picked up the one who's crying.

"Are those babies?! Tanya what the hell did you do?!" Irina shrieks now making both babies start crying hysterically.

I glare at her and moved towards the other one. "Shh, it's okay," I try soothing the two but it's a little difficult when I can only pick up one of them.
