Chapter Three

Matts Pov-

I hummed as I walked to my room and my mom stood in my way to my room.

" Why are you so happy ? " She asked and I just shrugged .

" We're having dinner with our neighbors tonight so be ready and help with dinner, they're coming at 6:30. " I nodded and went to look out of my window . I chuckled and saw Emily dancing around her room . She then saw me and ducked down .

" Seeing you at dinner tonight ? " I asked and she nodded .

" I have to eat with you at lunch and now dinner ? " she groaned and I tossed a paper ball at her .

" Hey ! " She said and threw it back , she laughed so cutely and I could do was smile.

" Your laugh is so cute " I said and she stopped .

" Weirdo ! " She tossed another paper ball and I chuckled .

" I'm gonna go get ready and close my window this time, stalker ! " I said and she put on a mad face.

" Ughhh ! " She said and I laughed while closing my window . I showered and changed into a dark blue button up shirt and black jeans, then I gelled my hair and put on some cologne .

It was 6:25 when I checked the clock so I headed downstairs and saw my mom sweating over the heat in the kitchen.

" Whatcha cooking ? " I asked.

" Kat told me Emilys favorite dish since she's from Hawaii, so I found a recipe for kalua pulled pork . " She said and gave me a piece to try.

" I like it ! " I said Tryna grab more but she slapped my hand away .

" We're gonna eat at 7 !" She scolded me and it was 6:30.

Emilys Pov -

I dressed in a black and white dress and made two French braids that looked like piggy tails . Then I applied just eyeliner and mascara too enhance my eyes.

" Come on em! We're gonna leave soon !" My aunt Kat brought her new boyfriend with us to dinner so I knew that I would have to talk to Matt.

We walked over to the house with meat loaf and were greeted by Mrs. Espinosa. " Aww you're so cute ! " she hugged me and I hugged back .

" this is my daughter and three sons! " I shook everyone's hand but when I got to Matthew he pulled me into a hug.

" Matt ! " I tried to say as he squeezed .

" You guys met already ? " his mom asked and he shook his head.

" Yes we did . " I said and chuckled at Matthew .

" Oh of course Matthew would say that ! " his mom laughed and led us to the living room.

" Matt keep Emily company as we talk. " Mrs. Espinosa said.

He led me upstairs and showed me the room I see through my window.

" Where's your dad ? " I asked.

" He's working late he said but he should be home soon. " Matt replied.

" So what you wanna do?" I turned to him.

" Make out ? " He suggested and I pushed him down.

" I had to try ! " he got up and laughed.

" I know . " I said and stood up.

" Hey you play football ? " I asked and he nodded .

" I always wanted to play but my Dad always told me that it was only for boys so I never Learned . " I said and he grabbed the football.

" Here this is how you grip it" he said as he took my hand and placed it on the right laces .

" And then you throw it . " He grabbed my waist and my hand and motioned how to throw it. I stood there as the foot ball dropped ok the ground . He turned me around and stared into my eyes as his hands were around me waist.

" Emily ? " he asked and I nodded .

" Why are you playing hard ? " he asked and I chuckled.

" Let's say I have some experience with fuck boys . " I said as I placed my arms around his neck.

" So I'm a fuck boy ? " he asked and I shook my head.

" I dont think so ? " I replied.

" I promise i would never hurt you. " he said and my heart skipped a beat. I hugged him and he chuckled.

" Nothing personal, I like you too but I don't wanna seem like a slut getting a boy on the first week. " He laughed .

Matts Pov -

I smiled as she told me that she liked me. I held her and listened carefully.

" Then let's just be friends and see where this goes . " I said and I felt her nod gently .

" Thanks Matt . " She came up and pecked my cheek .

" MATT ! EMILY ! Dinners ready ." My mom said and we released our hug . She followed me down the stairs and into the dining room.

" Emily your aunt told me this was one of your favorite foods ! " My mom showed her the food and Emily smiled.

" Yup kalua pork is one of my favorites that's served on the island ." Emily said .

" Oh I'm so happy to hear that ! " Everyone took their seat and Emily sat across of me.

" Do you like it Matt ? " I heard my mom . I nodded and continued to eat.

" I'm home ! " I heard my dad come in and kiss my moms cheek.

" Oh I forgot we had guest tonight. " he said .

" Yes this is Emily she moved here recently ! " He shook her hand.

" What a pretty young lady. " Emily smiled .
We continued to eat and after 1 hour of laughing and eating everyone was full.

Emilys Pov -

I couldn't focus when everyone was talking and laughing, my mind was on Matt. It's so weird how everything just happened, I mean we just admitted we like each other but we're gonna be friends . I have to admit he's handsome and really sweet.

I felt a kick on my leg and I looked up, Matt mouthed me if I was okay and I nodded . He smiled and I smiled back.
See he's fricken caring too ! After dinner we went back to his room.

" You looked lost at dinner ? " he asked and I nodded.

" what's wrong ? " he asked .

" Idk everything's just new, normally when I move to different people I hate them and make them take me back to court, but now I'm scared I'm gonna screw things up and my aunts gonna leave me like everyone else did . " I replied and he hugged me.

" No that's not gonna happen because if you leave then I'm gonna be sad ." He said while rubbing my back.

I chuckled , " Thanks Matt . " I said as I snuggled into his chest .
