The Hiring Manager

It was another day at this shitty place called work. I hate this job. I hate the people who started this business. Me and the executive administrator director, we don't get along, and the office manager. They are like two peas in a pod. We haven't gotten along since the day he yelled at me in front of a bunch of clients for something that I did not do. Do you know how embarrassing that was? Not only that, he gave my job away only giving me a week in advance to pick between two different jobs. The lady that he picked to take my job didn't even understand how to do the job and she was suppose to have more experience than I did. I was the one who had to train her. Every time she had an issue I had to go over and explain it knowing I had a different position that I had to learn. It was bull shit.

To get ready to start my day, I took a seat at my desk, putting my lunch bag underneath it. I logged in to my computer opening up my email. I had about 6 referrals from different places that was sent to get people in our sober living program. I printed them off so I could set a meeting with them to get more information putting them in the system so they could either get accepted or denied.

As soon as I sat back down my boss Bryan and his wife came in.

"Good morning Leah. How is your grandmother?"

"Good morning. She is still doing bad, I haven't gotten any updates yet."

"Well, I am praying for her. Please keep me updated."

"Thank you. I will as soon as I hear something."

With that he headed straight towards his office.

Today was the day where reports needed to be sent out to either probation, parole, home confinement officers, drug court, CPS or the lawyers. We have over 20 participants that have to have weekly reports sent out.

I had to go on kipu our system and print out off all their drug screens and their accountability work sheets.

"Hey buddy." Julia said peeking her head through my door.

"Hi.." I responded quickly looking up at her then back at my computer screen.

"Busy already?"

"Yeah, I got to get these reports out as soon as possible. Then I have to do some over the phone interviews. File these papers."

"I understand. I will leave you to it."

Julia is our new hiring manager. She's been here for a couple of months. She is really sweet, funny, nice, and also really hot. Like really attractive. Every time I see her, I always secretly check her out. She always wears leggings that show her figure so well. Her very perky breast. Sometimes I think she knows I check her out, but I could be wrong. Very wrong. And I think sometimes she checks me out. I could be very wrong again. But unfortunately she is married to a douche bag who I don't like. He is a cocky stuck up son of a bitch.

I know I would never have a chance with her. She is like 16 years older than me. That's why recently I've just been keeping our conversation short and simple. The less communication I have with her, the more I can stay away from her.

She is really good at what she does. She has to clean up everything that the big boss has messed up. Some employees don't have certain paperwork filled out that has to be in their file. They could get in big trouble for that. Which I wouldn't care.

Throughout the day between going back and forth between the printer and keeping updates on my grandma, I was stressed and didn't want to put up with no shit. The outcome wasn't looking good.

*A COUPLE HOURS LATER*

"Hey." Julia said when I walked in the printer room.
