And some added lore, You have noticed how easy it is for an average Guardsmen to be killed on the battlefield or just accused of heresy or suspected heresy so you made it to where they just age like an space marine and some of them are turned into super soldiers

Instead of normal space marines these guys are just Guardsmen but with many super human enhancements with armor they have grafted onto themselves after being severely wounded they have been given the option to become super soldiers to fight for the Imperium
(Disclaimer: They are not super mutants like Frank Horrigan in Fallout they are just been given enhancements to there body)
