I slowly started to open my eyes on the hospital bed. I could hear people yelling "He's walking up!" when I fully opened my eyes, I could see someone sitting next to my bed, they looked familiar, but my vision was still blurry, so I couldn't tell who it was. All around me, I could hear machines beeping, and I only had one thing on my mind: "Man, I'm tired" but I couldn't sleep, I knew if I did, I might not wake up. I blinked and stared at the person sitting next to me. It was the man in the mask! I had no idea how he was alive so I asked

"How... are you alive?"

The man in the mask said

"That doesn't matter, what does matter is that you're alive."

I looked at him, and smiled as best I could. He didn't seem like he was smiling back, but I couldn't tell. He was just sitting there, elbows on his knees, hands clasped together, looking at the ground. Then, a few more people walked in, they looked like doctors. I asked them

"How long was I out for?"

To which they responded

"You've been in a coma for 2 weeks, it's a good thing it was only that long."

"One more thing, the blast may have damaged your amygdala, so you may not be able to feel as many emotions as before."

I asked them

"And how's he alive?"

I pointed to the man in the mask

"We have no idea. He won't tell us."

"Well, when can I be discharged?"

"You'll have to stay here for two weeks to heal."

I just accepted that answer.
