"Hey, how are you not devastated? Most newbies don't make it back, and when they do, they're terrified."

The man in the mask spoke

"He got his amygdala damaged in the attack on the previous base, so he can't feel as much emotions as us."

They seemed interested, but didn't ask any questions.

One of my comrades walking by stopped and asked

"So, what exactly happened at the old base?"

I looked at him for a long minute, before finally speaking

"We were attacked, the man in the mask died, but somehow he's alive, I still have no idea how, but anyway, there was a bomb dropped, and from the blast, my amygdala was damaged."

They seemed very interested, and just kept looking at me, with a very confused look, before I yelled

"Is that it!?"
