Someone ordered the most bitter coffee on the menu. He did not question why. Everyone has their preference, Suguru thought to himself.
He took the cup and looked at the name written on it.
"Satoru? Ah, that's a nice name," he muttered to himself before looking up to see the man who placed the order, ready to pay.
But for some reason, the person's eyes that were the color of clear blue sky stared at him, and those eyes held a certain emotion Suguru could not quite describe. It was as though the man was seeing a past in his own present. A memory in another life overlapping with the memory of this life. It was that transient moment in time when everything seems to make absolute sense.
It feels as though it finally made sense, why Satoru would always wake up from the same dream, crying over the same person, in the same place that was not quite the same as the City he lives in.
It made sense, because the very person he always sees in his dream is right in front of him, calling his name.
