Walking into the office that was soon to be mine, It smelled. I couldn't place my finger on what it was, but just looking at Mr. Volok, it was some sort of drug. But I didn't have the time to dwell on such things. I took a seat across from his as he wrangled against his drawers to pull out paperwork and different contacts. I would have to remember to redecorate later. "I'm sorry this is taking me a moment," Mr. Volok apologizes in a raised tone. What the hell was he on?

"It's alright," My voice deep enough to send a chill through the room, obvious by the way he shivered and sat up straighter with the papers in hand. Spewing them out in front of me, he tapped a finger to the places that needed to be signed. Although his finger was always off by a few inches. I couldn't imagine having this man as a CEO or boss, much less a father. I would have to dig into that later. But after a few minutes my signature had signed every blank line on the sheets and he smiled up at me.

"Congratulations, Mr. Hawkinson. The official announcement will take place wednesday night in the company ballroom, Bring my daughter with you," He winks to finish off his sentence. Disgust ran through my veins as I tried to decode what he was hinting at.

"Of course, Have a nice evening Mr. Volok," My tone came out deeper than I had intended, yet i'm sure he was too far off in loo-loo land to notice. He nodded off as I stood and left the office. Taking the elevator down to the main floor. A high pitched voice cut through the air.

"Have a nice day, Mr. Hawkinson!" The blonde at the desk cheered, looking back at her I saw the rosiness that painted her cheeks. She was a beautiful woman, but I couldn't bring myself to want anything to do with her, much less speak to her. I gave her a quick nod before stepping back out onto the busy New York streets.

The time had ticked by as I made my way to my office. Although I had worked for my family, I quit the day before to take the CEO position at Mr. Volok's business. I packed away whatever minor things I kept there before leaving out the doors and taking a cab back to the house. When I stepped in the door I could hear multiple voices. Different pitches and levels of excitement, but the one that I could pick out from the rest was Cherry's. Her soft and friendly voice traveled through the air and into my ears like a sweet melody. I took long strides into the living room and leaned against the wall that framed the walkway from the kitchen and dining room. A small grin curling onto my lips as I watch the girls talk and laugh. I wait a moment before interrupting. "I apologize for the interruption ladies, but could I borrow my wife for a moment?" Their eyes immediately snapped to me and the conversation died off quickly. The girls eyes drift back to Cherry before they nod.

After her friends approval she shoots them a warning glare before standing up and following me to the kitchen. "What do you want? Can't you tell i'm busy?" she hisses out, resembling more of a cat that a human.

"Relax kitty" I ruffle her hair under my hand before smiling innocently at her and removing my hand from her hair "I just wanted to let you know that the company will have its announcement party on Wednesday and I'm expected to show up with you,"

She rolls her eyes, "Can't you take some other girl, I don't wanna be seen with you, anywhere, it would ruin my image," She huffs.

"Trust me kitty, being seen with me won't be so bad. It's only for a few hours, so can you please play the role of a good wife until the party is over?" I look at her, feigning a begging face.

Her lush pink lips curve up into a smile for a second before she put it out. "Fine," She groans "Is that all you need? Because I would much rather be with my girls than with you,"

"That is all I need, but wouldn't you like to spend some more time with your husband?" I tease, knowing the reaction that would rise.

"As if," She mutters before a few curses leave her mouth. I flash her a grin before nodding back over to the living room where her friends are sitting as a dismissal. She takes it immediately and storms back into the living room with her friends. They keep quiet for a moment before I step back into the room and run my hands down cherry's shoulders. My eyes meet my sisters for a moment, Bailey sat by Cherry's other friends, yet I slip my black amex card into her cleavage and whisper

"Get yourselves something to eat and drink, and be a dear and re-order a bottle of that wine. It isn't the cheapest," I slide my hands off her and walk off to our bedroom.
