RECESS: TJ X READER

Spinelli

We walked out to the empty back field. It was another cloudy day in Arkansas. It was pretty warm, since it was still early fall and there was a gentle breeze in the air. It looked like a thunderstorm was rolling in.

"Okay," TJ stopped walking, "You're not gonna like what I'm about to say, but here it goes."

I frowned at him. There was a suspenseful silence.

"Spinelli didn't move," he stated blankly.

"Didn't move? What do you mean she didn't move? She told everyone she did and-" TJ covered my mouth with his hand.

"Shh," he silenced me.

"Well if she didn't move, do you know where she is?" I asked in a hushed tone.

"No. I've been trying to find her for a couple weeks now but nothing. It's like she disappeared off the face of the planet," he told me.

"Well how do you know she didn't move away?" I questioned.

"I talked to Finster," he responded.

"Finster? Like Miss Finster from elementary school?" I asked.

"Mhm," he replied, "Remember how Spinelli's grandma and her were best friends? Well I figured she knew something about where Spinelli was since Finster is a family friend, but she said she didn't know. But she did tell me that she didn't move," TJ finished.

"How do you know she's telling the truth? Finster is an interesting choice to get information from," I laughed.

"In all the time we knew her in elementary school, had she ever lied to us?" TJ questioned.

"No...never," I recalled.

"Exactly," TJ proved his point.

"Well you have to tell the group this at some point. Maybe we could search for her," I suggested.

"Yeah, I'm getting everyone together after school at my place. Can you go?" he asked.

"Yeah I can, but why did you tell me all of this now and not wait until then?" I inquired.

"I just knew you could be trusted, y/n," he told me.

Just then, the bell rang and I realized we had missed lunch. TJ and I said our goodbyes and headed off to our classes. I couldn't help but wonder about Spinelli.
