What is it, TJ?

I felt a chaotic whirl of perfume and makeup around me. Ashley T was putting mascara on me, while Ashley Q glossed my lips. Ashleys A and B were deciding on an outfit to dress me in.

They ended up picking a pretty satin and shiny dress in my favorite color. They also picked out a cropped sweater to go over it. They said that the Converse I was already wearing would be fine to use and sent me to get dressed.

A few minutes later, I came out of the bathroom stall and the Ashleys started to lightly applaud.

"I think we've outdone ourselves, ladies," Ashley A remarked.

"I agree," Ashley Q said.

Just then the bell rang and the Ashleys pushed me out of the bathroom. I was heading to A12 to meet up with TJ. For some reason I was nervous...

The walk through the hallway felt like the longest journey I had ever taken in my life. Everyone was staring at me. Some people were whispering.

A few people complimented how I looked, which I didn't mind at all. It was just the stares that got to me.

Finally, I reached room A12 and I could see TJ leaning against the wall, In a comedic sort of way.

When he saw me, and the way I looked, he suddenly improved his posture and tidied up his appearance.

"H-hey y/n," he stammered, "You l-look really g-good."

"Oh, thanks," I muttered, a little embarrassed.

He continued to stare at me with his eyes wide and jaw slightly dropped.

"Yeah, um," I broke the silence, "I had a free period so I let the Ashleys 'experiment' with me."

"Well, they did a darn good job," he blurted out. "Sorry. Forget I said that."

"It's okay. I kinda miss my sweatpants though," I said in a joking manner. "And also," I whispered, "everyone is staring at me and it's freaking me out a little bit."

"Well, they definitely have a reason to. I mean you look...just.....," he paused while blushing, "...hot...."

I smiled a large smile. I was now blushing some too. I mean to have the boy you like tell you you look "hot" is like a dream come true. Maybe the Ashleys were right, maybe he did like me.

"Um, anyway," he cleared his throat, "that thing I wanted to tell you about."

"Oh yeah. What is it?" I asked, interested.

"Well, I think we should go outside, to the field for me to tell you. Nobody, and I mean nobody can know about it. Do you solemnly swear you will not tell anyone, not even the rest of the group?" he spoke, seriously.

"I do solemnly swear," I repeated.

"Good," he replied. "Now, shall we go?"
