The Hunter was hit with the full force of his own reality. He had some muscle tone and strength, alright. But the first time he tried, he could barely walk.

His balance and coordination were off. In those conditions he would not manage escape or kill everyone (per his latest desire). He could claim the Girl's life, though.

Which he considered doing if they were ever caught.

The Hunter was painfully aware that being discovered would mean a very dark future for his Girl.

The yautja now knew this project was not sanctioned by any ooman organization, and if the Girl was to be believed, the repercussions against the organization facilitating his abuse was going to be severe and far reaching.

If those oomans were willing to risk such punishment, they would certainly do their worst to a traitor.

The (fake) xenophysician didn't let on if she had such worries - and the Hunter thought that she lacked the self-preservation instinct to a extent that she probably even ever considered what would happen to her.

That, or she was self-assured to a stupidity level.

If she even worries about the repercussions of being caught, I would certainly know it in detail by now.

The Girl was not a lost case, though. Because she was extremely careful about hiding their traitorous activities.

The Girl started to stay in the enclosure until the early hours of the morning.

They sneaked short walks in between the guards' checks. Five minutes of activity, since every 20 one of them would peek through the window in the enclosure's door.

The inhibitors were always lax, though. So he could become really reacquainted to his body.

She would leave his bed in the vertical position the whole night. The guards were quick to pick up on that and enquired about this very unwise) change.

"Sleep deprivation experiment", the Girl informed. It was indeed in Dahle's requests. "I will be keeping watch for the next two weeks", meaning spending whole night at the aliens side.

Informing the veteran staff members was not so easy though. But the Girl went prepared.

She could demonstrate how the Hunter's sleep patterns had improved, so leave him standing would collaborate with sleep deprivation (especially after years in the horizontal position).

Explained that allowing him some awareness of his body would ensure the alien would not sleep out of exhaustion and lack of body awareness.

Moreover, she would watch the brainwaves, and stimulate the specimen as needed.

And obviously, if he tried to wrestle his way out of his restraints, she would re-engage the inhibitors at full potency.

"Do you think you can manage that?", Phillips looked and sounded uncertain.

But of course. She put forth her teacher's pet persona, and assured it. Better yet:

"Doctor Dahle's will return in a couple of months, she will be displeased if we don't have this data before the team start to run the resistance tests on the matured individuals", and she sounded and looked quite happy to risk her own neck to become the first and only Dahle's darling.

And the other veterans knew better than to be the reason why Dahle didn't get what Dahle wanted.

The Girl was more than happy to hear her peers whispering venom at her, oh so eager attitude.
