This cannot get any more boring.

My best friend Jasmine is having her Sweet 18th birthday party in exactly 2 days away. Because she didnt get to celebrate her 16th with the rest of us (She was in Paris, so it wasn't that much of a loss) she felt the need to throw a huge bash for her 18th to replace it, she said this one would be better because she would be older. I, as one of her closest friend of course have to constantly be there to hear her rambling about how she's gonna decorate the place, the dress she's going to wear, the people she's going to invite and bla bla bla bla...

Don't get me wrong, i love her to death but let's just say that when Jas starts talking she NEVER stops, literally she can go on and on and on about the same subject for hours. While I, on the other hand just smile and nod at everything and only ever comments on things i strongly disagree on.

Anyway, enough of my gorgeous, black haired best friend, right now she's telling me how cute i'll be with my date. Oh yeah did i tell you she also set me up with Ford aka the 'hottest' guy in school, i know how cliche right? Jas basically set up all of our friends with someone, saying that i'm her best friend and i 'shall not enter the party of the year dateless' in her own words.

So basically this party isn't your usually birthday bash. It's basically a mixture of a really elegant and traditional posh people party and a house party, now i know what you might be wondering, what the hell right? Let me explain. Jas's parents are rich as hell, well all the people in this neighbourhood are, hers being one of the richest.

The party will start at 7 pm, everybody will come in evening gowns and and the guys will be wearing luxury tux and all that. Her father suggested this, because her parents are one of the most respected people in this town, they didnt want their daughter to just have a cheap house party.

Everybody would be invited to the 'dinner'. Her house would be decorated with the prettiest of chandeliers and the best tasting food you'll ever eat, cooked by the best chefs in the entire state, if not country.

Then, when everybody's done with their useless and prideful small talks, at 10 pm all the parents and adults would be escorted out while all the teens who have been invited get changed for the real party. Which, will be held in her immense backyard. There's even a pool in case you were wondering but bikinis aren't allowed, see Jas is half arabic, her father is a muslim and her mother converted when they got married. Although they aren't very religious Jas has strict rules that she suprisingly follows without complains. Basically the rules are, no drinking (but Jas usually breaks that), nobody getting naked in the party, or having any sexual intercourse in any of the bedrooms and no drugs, thats it. So all the doors would be locked.

You might be wondering how this could be an amazing party when there are so many 'lame' rules to be followed. Well obviously everyone's gonna at least sneak in some sort of alcohol and Jas is VERY popular, everybody likes her. So the fact that she hosts parties in her mansion and hire the best DJs is enough to make people coming and asking for more.

"So what do you think? The black one or the red one?" Jas asked me.

"Um i dont think your father would be too happy with the red one, it's showing too much legs. Even though it compliments your skin tone pretty well" I answered.

She sighed "I know, it's so pretty though, but fine i'll get the black one i've been eyeing this one for a while anyway"

"Jas you know you look good in anything" I said looking at the beautiful black dress, it's strapless but had the transparent net thing that covers her top part and goes on like a tshirt, connected to skirt that reaches her mid thigh. It's not exactly body hugging but it compliments her figure just fine.

"Aww you always know the right things to say lia" she winked at me.

Oh yeah, i've been describing my friend so much that i haven't introduced myself. I'm Dahlia Evans. People call me Lia, i'm 17 and i'm born in the end of the year while Jas is born in the beginning, so we're almost at a year apart.

I'm not one to party, in fact i hate partying, it's useless and it brings back painful memories to me. I'd always come up wth an excuse whenever someone would invite me to a party. So i'm only doing this for Jas and some of our other friends so that they wouldn't get disappointed. One thing for sure is that i never get drunk. Ever. How can i when i've never drank. I always pretend like i'm drunk or pretend that ive drunk from red cups when really i've switched them with water or ice tea, you'll understand why soon enough.

Oh and i'm also not one to dress up or shop like the other girls, i know so why the hell am i friends with Jas? One of the prettiest, richest, most popular girl in school?
The answer is our parents, well at least that's how it's started out at first i thought that i'll never like hanging out with someone like Jas or any of her posh friends, but then as i got closer, Jas is always sweet to me and there's so much more than meets the eye as corny as that sounds.

Everyone has their own problems and i'm not talking about i-cant-find-a-dress-for-tonight's-party kinda problems that you'd think we rich kids have but actual heart wrenching tragic problems, and i realize that even somebody as perfect as Jas has them too. So who am i to judge?.
Jas also decided that theres more to me than the girl who likes to sit alone reading books and listening to indie songs, and i guess we started there. By realizing that we can never judge someone by their social status or how they look from the outside.

It's a Thursday afternoon and Jas is now yapping away about how hot her crush is and how she'll try to blow his mind away this saturday. By now my eyes are half closed i just cant wait for thee weekend and get this whole party over with. I went shopping with her for her dress, i told her to buy an outfit at least a week before the psrty but she told me that she wanted the latest model yet. So like a good best friend that i am i drove her to the mall in in my car. Can i brag to you about my car? Of course i can. It's a black Range Rover that i got for my 16th birthday, i know i know spoilt much? But the thing is i didn't even ask for it, by that time i would've been happy if my dad would've bought me a new pair of shoes but hey, i'm not going to deny a gift this beautiful.

When i dropped at her at her house she said

"Thanks alot lee, see you tomorrow!" She waved. As if Lia wasn't short enough.

"Sure see ya Jas" i replied.

And so i went back to my house, took a shower, snuggled in my warm and comfortable bed and drifted to dreamland as i waited for the last day of the week.
