I was running.

My heart was beating so fast, i can feel my sweat trickeling down my forehead and my neck.
But it's dark and i can't see a thing. All i can hear are distant chattering sounds, clanking bottles and even soft thuds of music blaring in the background. As if there's party going on somewhere not too far from where i am but i cant see so i dont know if im running towards the right
direction.

"Hey there sweetie, why in the world is a pretty little girl like you be doing in a place like this?" Slurred a voice of a man who's obviously not in his right state of mind.

There weren't only one man, and why is the voice growing stronger?, i know i'm running so why am i not getting further from them?

"Maybe we should take her home hmm?" Said a second voice.

I tried to tell myself to run faster but nothing's happening. I can feel my clothes clinging tighter and tighter to my skin.

"Come here little one we'll take good care of you" sniggered a third voice. God how many of them are there?

"NO!!" I screamed and i can finally open my eyes. As i adjust my eyes to the darkness, terrified that those men were still there. But i see nothing but a desk and a white wall. I'm in my room. I'm in my room. It was just a dream. Not just any dream at that.

I sighed. I thought they had stopped, i haven't had that dream in months, i thought i was finally free from them. But i obviously wasn't.

I looked to the digital clock on my bedside table, it read 05:30. I'm glad this time it didn't wake me up too early, because i can never go back to sleep after these 'events'.

So i decided to get up and when i looked around, everything was trashed, half of my bed sheet wasn't on my bed any more, some books were scattered on the floor, so were some things that were on my bedside table last night.

I sighed again, "guess i would have to clean this up before school today"
Wait. No i dont. I have a maid to do that. I no longer have to do these things now. But still, i cant let her clean up all of this, i thought as i picked up some things from the floor.

I took my running shoes from the closet and changed to some trainers and a shirt. What else am i gonna do for the next hour? Instead of dwelling on that stupid nightmare i'd rather have Fall Out Boy blare their music in my ears while i feel the morning air on my skin.

So i did just that. I ran around the neighbourhood for a good 35 minutes, enjoying the beautiful sunrise as i passed LA's signature palm trees. I still cant believe that this is my life now.
I shake my head, whenever i start thinking about the drastic contrast between the past and the present, i can spend hours trying to make myself believe i'm not daydreaming.

I went back to my beautiful white painted mansion that i call myself home. As i walked through the kitchen, i smell pancakes and maple syrup in the air, and my tummy rumbles in response.

"Morning Dahlia, how was your run?" Said my house maid, Mariella sweetly.

"It was great thanks, a bit chilly though" i said returning her smile. She was the only person i know that calls me Dahlia, everyone else just calls me Lia or Lee, which i don't mind but i do like hearing my full name from time to time.

"Pancakes or eggs today?" Mariella asked.

"You know i cant resist your famous pancakes mariella, oh and do we still have some vanilla ice cream?" I replied.

She didnt need to answer as she took out a huge bucket of Haagen Dazs on the table.
I beamed at her as she chuckled and prepare my breakfast.

I ate till my tummy was full, grateful that i get to do that now. Took a quick shower, chose an outfit that consists of combat boots, a scarf and a white top. I'm really not one to fuss over my clothes.
