"Who are you?" The man wearing a black coat asked as he walk down through the long and old grand staircast. He's wearing a sunglasses despite the fact that we're inside this huge and dark mansion. He has a long hair that touches his shoulder blades, the top half part of it were built into knot making him look so cool and clean.
"I should be the one asking you that." I replied. Never looking away from this stranger. He's an unknown person, I didn't know him, and as a matter of fact. I didn't know anyone in this place.
I just arrived here. And if it weren't for my estranged grandfather's will, I would never set foot in this place.
This old and creepy place, far from the city lights and loud noises and although I love the idea of living in a desolate place. I would never want to visit a place like this.
So old, dark and lonely.
The man stop from his track. He's looking at me and I can see it through the thick lenses on his glass. I frowned, not wanting the way he looks at me.
I'm tired. I need to rest before going back to the town to find some necessities.
"Are you my grandfather's lawyer?" I ask him not even changing the tone of my voice.
"Lawyer?"
"Yeah. The old man who sends the letter along with the documents and papers that my grandfather gave."
The man lifted up the left side of his sharp eyebrow. Making him kind of intimidating.
But not too intimidating to me. I met lots of people like him, and growing up? I learned to face.
"My boy..." He chuckled.
"You must be mistaken. This place is mine."
His? Oh did I read the wrong address?
My frowned deepen. Thinking that maybe I crashed into someone's place, I suddenly felt embarrassed but-didn't the driver told me that this is the place?
"Oh wait a second." I told the man. Lifting my index finger before picking up the old paper resting on my pocket.
Did I just made a mistake?
"Is this the Luna mansion?" I asked still looking at the piece of paper in my hand.
I didn't hear any response at all so I returned my gaze to him, only to be shock because the man is no longer on the middle part of the staircase.
It only took seconds for me to read the words on the paper yet he's already here, standing in front of me. Face to face.
The space between us is getting smaller. Making it hard for me to let out a deep breath.
H-How could he fastly close the distance between us?
"This is the La Luna's palace." A deep voice suddenly broke the silence between us. The distance made me feel the rumbling from his chest, making me take a small step away from him.
The man's sharp brows met. It seems like he doesn't like what I did. Not wanting me to take a step farther away from him.
"Y-Yeah. That's my grandpa's place and unfortunately I inherited this place from him." I stuttered at every words that came out from my mouth.
I know that I just said that I'm used to this kind of people. Huge and intimidating, but there's something about this guy that made me fear him for some reason.
He's...just different. It just felt so different standing closer to him.
"Care to tell your grandfather's name?" The man said.
His brows relaxed before looking away from me. He walks slowly towards the huge window and stopped at the front of a small table that helds a glass of wine and small goblet.
Every step he took creates a soft sound of his heels touching the sparkling marbles. He moves like a wind creating a very smooth outline for his godlike stature, but the darkness around still hasn't faded.
"Uhm his name..." Oh shoot! I forgot my grandfather's name.
"Hold on." I started to fumble and search for the name of my grandpa on the papers I held.
There should be one because these are letters from him!
While I was busy searching for my grandfather's name I could see the man from the side of my vision. He poured himself a glass of red wine and took a sip on it. He act as if I'm not around him, making me feel the need to rush.
I just don't know why! And why the hell did I bring myself into this without knowing the old man's name?!
Am I that desperate for money? I cried internally while still looking at the contents of the paper in front of me.
"Estevan Gale. Is that your grandfather's name?"
The moment he said those words I finally saw the name of the man who wrote the letters in my hand. Estevan Gale. My grandfather, whom I haven't heard ever since I was a kid.
I took a big gulp before facing my guest. He's still there standing in front of the window, sipping a pint of wine in his shiny small glass.
"Ye-yeah."
"I'm the owner of this mansion before I transferred this to your grandfather's name."
"O-Oh?" The lawyer didn't say anything about that. I haven't heard from that scum after I received the papers. Is he hiding from me now?
I suddenly felt fear. What if this is a setup?
Fuck. Did I again put myself into a complicated situation?!
Stupid as it is. An embarrassed smile appeared on my lips.
The only thing I can think of right now is that...I'm fucked up.
"But feel free to claim this as yours. This place no longer suits me..." The man added, placing his glass back on the table before turning his back away from me. I wanted to ask him more about this place but I never dared to do so as he started walking away from me.
The man left, leaving me in here with silence as for the company.
Well...at least I can now rest in peace knowing that this place is now rightfully mine.
