I opened my eyes to a familiar place; it reminded me of a void, an endless dark space.
I felt like I was floating, it felt safe and calming as if I were in my own little pocket dimension.
I enjoyed floating here quietly, occasionally planning something out, going through every possible outcome and how I would work around it.
I didn't have some nagging fear or anxiety tugging at the back of my mind.
Instead, my body felt as if it could finally relax, so I allowed my shoulders to fall back and stretched my arms and legs out.
My body ached from the tension leaving it, but it was nice if only this could last longer.
I closed my eyes once more, knowing all of this would come to an end soon enough.
I took a deep breath in and let out a soft sigh, enjoying whatever time I had left here, but as if on cue, something started to nag at me, tension tearing into my body and anxiety bubbling to the surface of my mind.
...
..
.
*ring*.... *ring*...
I could hear a repetitive bell ring out.Waking up with my cat Mystic up against my side and my dog Blue against my other side, I notice my phone slowly vibrating its way off my nightstand.
With my body in protest, I made an attempt to turn my phone's alarm off, rolling over and reaching out for it, but in a blink of an eye, I was on the floor, face first, with Blue.
I rolled over yet again to stop the excessive ringing, but I was far too late, as my phone vibrated off the nightstand and onto my face.
After fumbling with it for a second, I managed to turn it off. I could hear the click of Blue's claws against my floor, followed by annoyed grumbles.
Still groggy, I let out a tired, grown
"What a lovely start."
I let my hand fall to my stomach as I looked up at my ceiling, as if I were expecting some sort of compensation from a higher force for the bruise I could feel slowly forming on my shoulder.
Instead, I was met by Blue's big nose sniffing me over, probably trying to decide whether I was okay or not.
Mystic peered down at me from the comfort of my bed, tilting her head as if she were asking me, "Are you alright?" I gave her a thumbs up, and she went back to bed.
"Thanks, you two."
After a few more minutes on my floor, I got up and made myself look presentable.
I decided to skip out on getting food and made my way up to my studio to finish working on some projects that were slowly coming up to their due date.
So I walked up the stairs with my dog by my side. Once we were in my studio, I walked over to my desk, and Blue walked over to a pile of fluffy pillows I had on the other side of my studio.
As I sat at my desk, I heard a thud as Blue threw himself down. I shook my head with a small smile as I started working.
It wasn't much, just three masks that some kids had been asking for for some time.
