My knack for writing has always been there, even as a little child. Writing. Writing. When I'm caught in my own thoughts, I usually picture myself as the character in question, as though it were possible to travel to a different universe where all of life's prospects are at your fingertips.
I was born and raised in the Chinese region of Shandong, in the streets of Yingxiongshan Road. From where we live is a 4-storey apartment complex. Has brightly lit structures that are visible from a considerable distance at night. There were three doors and individualized balconies on each story. Featuring a silver gate that needs a code entered before you can get inside. The interior rooms are primarily composed of smooth, brown wood. Starting from the couches, cabinets, tables, and chairs. The rooms' lights are as orange as Carson-coloured sky before the sun sets. Yes, it's a straightforward yet significant existence, isn't it?
From a futuristic robot character to a prominent political figure such as Deng Xiaoping in my writings...
This whole time, I was unaware that I would merely go back to my sentimental side, which has always yearned for a real crush.
To put it simply, I'm currently residing at home with my first REAL crush. Right now, I can neither confirm nor deny if I'm telling the truth. However, it was a convoluted road for my 15-year-old self to figure out. Therefore, it should go the exact same way for my readers.
After purchasing test papers to rehearse on, I headed to the Alumni Book Store where I discovered an amazing book including quotes and lessons about love with my closest female friend.
She read it to me while we were munching on lemon-flavoured lollipops, beaming like a mother telling her five-year-old how she met its father before it had to go to bed early for Kindergarten Classes tomorrow, "Often one finds one's destiny just where one hides to avoid it.
Chinese folklore contains an ancient tale known as "the red string of fate" that describes a mystical bond between two individuals who are meant to be soul mates. Whatever the time, place, or situation, the two individuals who are bound together by the red threads are meant to be lovers. This mystical chain can tangle and stretch, but it can never break. This belief is comparable to the idea of soulmates in Western culture."
After purchasing the same book and taking it inside my cozy home, I cooled off on the terrace of our unit. I read the query below. "Do you ever wonder who is tied to the end of your thread?" , I put my palm under my chin and looked up at the stars, which represented the depth of my feelings for the person I was just thinking about... No matter where I go, somehow, someway... It's an honour how the essence of his presence is always there.
Bantered by the same best friend, "I'm not going to lie, but, you two seem cute together, for whatever reason. Similar to a marriage in paradise, you know? Do you not believe that he has shown you enough kindness to allow us to rule out the chance that he may have feelings for you as well? Think about it... While he may be a Senior to you, he does not take advantage of your friendliness for his own self-serving benefit unlike your previous crush."
While she takes a piece out of her potato chips, she shoves me in his direction...
Back when I was a teenager, I used to believe that having a crush on someone meant you had to subconsciously put yourself on a pedestal in order to feel worthy of their fondness. However, I've since realized... It's simply a time-waster. It's not that I've fully given up on love; rather, I've redefined its significance for me and come to see it as a motivator to improve myself as life goes on.
As my Father once said while calling me by my nickname, "Xiu, a Higher Power will always find a way to reintegrate us into our destiny, no matter how hard we attempt to escape it. As a result, during your years of Higher Education, I highly suggest that you maintain an open mind toward the folks you are currently having problems with. You don't have to remain enemies for the rest of your life just because you are at odds right now."
This, of course, does not mean that you have to reconcile with someone who has wronged you or that you are forced to forgive even if it crosses your line. It's more so embracing and accepting the possibility that some people may change for the better while others may not.
Fully engrossed in producing copies for the release of my First Book, my hands churning sounds as I input the words on the typewriter... The door is creaking...
I turned back just to be given a glimpse of the adoring soul behind his loving gaze, but not before a sudden warmth spread over my waist amid the vacant spaces of my Cesca Chair. I ended myself sitting with my legs crossed on the seat cushion itself rather than uncrossed for comfort.
"My sweet, angelic wife, you know, the more time I got to spend with you, the more I fall in love with you. I always find myself drawn to you. I always find myself wanting for more of you." He slightly kisses my cheek, tightening his hand's cozy grip around my waist. "I really am lucky to have you be a part of my life. Sometimes, I do forget how much of a blessing you truly are and I apologize for that. I thank every fate and star for having aligned our journeys together. For having made it possible for us to even be here together right now. Occupying the same cozy bed our bubble of love has resulted in."
Until now, it leaves my heart sinking to the depths of its own galaxies. The galaxies from whence the universe chose to unite us altogether.
Building enduring experiences with our group of pals... Riding bicycles together in the midst of the pursuit of prosperous adulthoods...
Similar to following your own dreams, persistence is required. Instead of hunting it perpetually like an Easter Egg in Western Countries, learn to let it come to you naturally while at the same time acting as though it's already been fulfilled.
One will battle for what they love. Am I correct? Trust me, it's going to be worth the dismay you could have given to individuals who were holding you back.

Something I definitely had to learn the hard way. Haha!
<Yiu Xiuying>
With an ethereal voice, "That's why I love you so much...", I reassured him.
And, HERE YOU ARE...! Along with US as we flip back to the pages of our youth.
*Pages of drawings of our chaotic experiences together flipping... The boy's face being blurred out on purpose *
