It's a week after their fight, and 2 weeks after their honeymoon. Naoki notices Kotoko's being distant from him and he doesn't know why despite him being the genius that he is. The company is doing well since he convinced his investors not to withdraw from the contract and that he is getting ready to enter medical school a week from now.

Still, he seems uncomfortable that his wife who usually won't leave him alone, bombarding him with endless topics of conversation, or being clingy as usual, is no longer doing the things she cheerfully does.

Sure, she still does all those things but he could sense some hesitation from her just like earlier when he said goodbye to leave for work, she usually hugs him for longer than 2 minutes but she just nodded and told him to be careful. He also notices that she looks like she hasn't been sleeping well. She would usually sleep like a log, her arms would fall flat on his face, legs spread widely invading his side of the bed, or she would hug him even though his back was facing her and would snore loudly but these past few nights, her back facing his, her arms tucked under her pillow, and her legs are scrunched like she feels cold.

Some nights he could feel her move like she was about to hug him but pulled out instantly back to her position. There were also nights when she would say "sorry" and "Sorry, Irie-kun" under her breath, and that confused Naoki. Weren't they okay now? Is she still upset? Has she or has he done something wrong? What's making her do all these things? Naoki could feel a migraine starting to hurt his head and so he decided to put an end to his confusion and confront her about it.

He's currently in his office flooded with paperwork but his mind is occupied by his wife. Oh, how he was wrapped around her little finger. He usually just focuses on working during office hours but now he's thinking about how and what to say to his wife that won't come out as offensive or hurtful. It's not like she's done anything wrong but he knows his mouth can sometimes be intimidating and rude. Someone knocked on the door and his assistant came in to tell him that they needed to do overtime again tonight to avoid any possible losses to the company. He sighed for the nth time that day, nodded, and thanked the assistant.

He needs to make a quick call at home to tell them he won't make it to dinner. When he arrived home, he went straight to their room which he found was quiet. When he entered the room, he saw his wife already asleep in their bed. He breathed out a loud sigh yet again. It was loud enough that it woke Kotoko from her sleep.

"Oh, Irie-kun. Okaerinasai."

"Ah. Tadaima. Did I wake you?"

"No, I was waiting for you and must've drifted off a bit."

"Ah."

"Are you... Are you hungry? Did you eat dinner? Should I heat food for you?"

"No need. I'll just shower and then go to sleep. You can go back to sleep as well you look like you need it."

"No, I'm fine."

"Kotoko."

"Irie-kun" she just smiled. It tugged on his heart.

"Fine. I'll be right back."

After his bath, his wife was sitting on their room's couch, eyelids heavily drooping and her eyes were crossing because she's stopping herself from falling asleep. He sighed, walked towards the couch, kneeled in front of her, and gently caressed her arm.

"Kotoko, you'll catch a cold here."

Instantly, her eyes brightened as her drowsiness faded away.

"No! No no no. I'm not sleepy at all. I was thinking!"
