The Truth About Rose, Part II

Phuwin, with concern etched on his face, began to search every corner of the training center for Pond. His pace quickened, and his hands started to tremble, reflecting the anxiety that gripped him.

First, he checked common areas, living rooms, and communal spaces. He called Pond's name loudly, hoping for a familiar response. Nothing. The silence felt heavy, further intensifying the tension in the air.

Without wasting time, Phuwin rushed to places where he knew Pond might be. He checked the training room, the locker rooms, and even the small garden at the back of the center. Each fruitless search heightened the unease in his chest.

With every opened door and every empty room, Phuwin felt a lump in his throat. Desperation grew, and his mind filled with dark thoughts about Pond's whereabouts. Was he okay? Had something serious happened?

A sense of helplessness enveloped him, and Phuwin realized he needed help. He grabbed his phone.

The Warriors of Night guys, along with Fourth, Joong, Maggie, and Book, had already placed dinner orders, but the atmosphere was still tense as Phuwin hadn't contacted them about Pond's status.

Joong then announced that he would call Pond. He stood up and went to a more private corner to make the call, just as Dunk's phone rang—Phuwin was calling him. Dunk got up to answer, heading to the same place Joong was.

Joong held the phone with concern on his face as he waited for Pond's response. Tension increased when the friend's voice finally came through on the other end of the line.

"Pond, man, how are you? We're all worried here. Phuwin went looking for you, and we all want to make sure you're okay. Are you both at the training center?" Joong asked, hoping for reassuring news.

Pond's voice, however, carried a weight of confusion and vulnerability. "No, Joong, I'm at your apartment. Some things happened, and I needed some time alone, especially away from Phuwin, for now."

Joong frowned, concerned. "What happened, Pond? Why are you feeling like this?"

Pond hesitated briefly, carefully pondering how to express the whirlwind of emotions around him. "I happened to run into Phuwin's ex. Some things were revealed, and I'm feeling a bit confused about it all. It seems like my insecurities are resurfacing, and I just need some time to be alone and calm my mind—it's spinning in circles right now. I wanted to let you know to come up with an excuse; I don't want to ruin anyone's night again. Please tell Phuwin that I'm okay, but I don't want to see him right now. I also can't answer his calls; he keeps calling, but I don't want him to worry about me, just tell him I'm okay but don't say where I am, please." Pond said with a choked-up voice.

Joong then offered support, asking if he wanted him to come over, but Pond declined, suggesting Joong enjoy time with Dunk and also wanting to avoid being seen by Fourth in that state.

Joong listened attentively to Pond's emotionally charged words, feeling the sincerity and anguish in each syllable. The friend seemed to be going through a tough time, and Joong wanted to offer all the support possible, understanding that Pond liked to have some time alone before being ready to share what he was feeling.

"Pond, I understand. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me. Phuwin is worried, but I'll explain the situation to him, don't worry, I won't tell him where you are. Take this time to calm down, and when you're ready to talk, we'll be here for you, okay?" Joong expressed with understanding.

Pond thanked him, his voice choked with restrained tears. "Thank you, Joong. And sorry for ruining everyone's night again."

Joong tried to reassure his friend. "Stop that, Pond. The most important thing now is for you to take care of yourself. Get well, try to sort out your thoughts. When I get back, we'll talk."
