In the previous chapter,

"You want a reason? How about this? Hire Chimon Wachirawit, and you'll have to find another captain," Phuwin practically spat out the words.

Soon, murmurs filled the room once again. Some people at the meeting found the young man's attitude quite arrogant, but no one had the courage to say it out loud. The young captain stood firm, unwilling to change his decision. He wanted what was best for his team, but there were limits he wasn't willing to cross for the sake of victory, and having Chimon Wachirawit on his team was certainly one of them. Phuwin wasn't the type of person to use his status to get things done, but if he needed to use all the influence he had to keep his former teammate away from the Warriors of Night, he would do so without hesitation.

"Please, gentlemen, let's keep calm. There are still other possibilities; there's no need to get upset. We all know that Phuwin is one of the most talented players, not just in Thailand but in the world. He has been leading this team for years, and we have achieved impressive results for a relatively new team like ours. So, I believe we should listen to and consider his opinion. We are two months away from the national championship, and we can't afford to lose our captain," Maggie pleaded, trying to calm the atmosphere.

"It's also important to remember that Phuwin is one of our sponsors' favorite players, and in that sense, our team is doing well," Mix reminded the stakeholders. Upon hearing about the sponsors, everyone quickly calmed down.

"Speaking of sponsors, our second proposal was devised by some of them. The idea is to host a Warriors of Night event to select the new team member. Something like this has never been done before in our country. In fact, the sponsors are very excited about this idea," Maggie enthusiastically announced, infecting some executives with her enthusiasm. Undoubtedly, an event of this magnitude seemed quite positive in their eyes.

"We have two months until the national championship, which will secure a spot in the world championship, and you want to randomly select a new player for our team. Is this serious?" Phuwin asked, raising an eyebrow and looking directly at his stepsister.

"Well, you just rejected the idea of having one of the most experienced players in League of Legends on your team, so dealing with a newcomer shouldn't be such a big problem. Remember, you may be the team captain, but you don't own the team. These are the available proposals at the moment. The president has already given approval to proceed. We called this meeting to evaluate together which alternative to pursue," Maggie replied firmly, trying to avoid a new wave of discussions. The young woman knew her stepsister wouldn't be satisfied, but today wasn't about family matters; it was about business.

Maggie and her brother had a distant relationship. She was the result of an extramarital relationship her father had before marrying Phuwin's mother. Her mother got pregnant a little earlier than Phuwin's mother, who had already suffered two miscarriages. To avoid hurting or jeopardizing his marriage, her father concealed the illegitimate daughter. After two years, Phuwin was born, and his father chose to keep the girl hidden until her mother passed away and Maggie had to come live with them. Her mother suffered a lot during that time but chose to welcome the young girl and not divorce her husband. All of this strained the relationship between father and son, who used to be very close. Less than a year later, Phuwin had the opportunity to play for a team abroad and didn't think twice.

They never had the chance to spend time together, so when Phuwin returned to Thailand with the idea of founding a team, his father supported the project and made the girl an important part of it, hoping that the siblings would have a chance to develop a closer relationship. However, the walls erected by the younger brother were hard to penetrate.

"This will definitely bring a lot of publicity to us, and well, there are many talented players out there who haven't had the opportunity to be discovered by major teams. An event of this magnitude can generate great visibility for both us and them," Mix defended. Since he participated in competitions with the B team, he was always at smaller events where he encountered players with high potential for the professional level. He truly valued the idea.
