According to you, how does it feel when you break a promise? Do you feel terrible? How would you feel when you promised to protect someone but couldn't? That guilt feeling in you will crush you down. There might be chances wherein you might go mad! Well, that was the case in Qing Mao's life...Qing Long, the king of Palmara, was proudly sitting on his throne. Today was when his sister was going to duel one of the greatest fighters in their kingdom and prove herself worthy to be his protector. Qing Mao had been undergoing training for almost a decade in spear fighting. Even though she could walk into the king's room and talk to him whenever she wanted because she was Qing Long's sister, she wanted to go the right way. Like a legal way, and not take advantage of being a family member.In their kingdom, no one can randomly become the Guardian of the king. For that, they must go through a lot of training. So, Qing Mao had to do all of it just to become closer to her brother and take care of him all the time. Their love for each other was indestructible."Welcome, brave warriors, to the arena of Palmara! Today, we witness a battle of strength, skill, and honor. May the best warrior emerge victorious!"Qing Mao nodded in acknowledgment, focused and ready for the challenge. The army chief admiral, Ronan, was the most powerful of all. So they chose her to fight him. If she won, she would become the Guardian of the king. Ronan was not that bad. He had a lot of experience on the battlefield. That was his specialty. Qing Mao's specialty was her Spear of the Crimson Dawn, which was said to have superpowers. She had to go on a quest, and it took her around 5 months to find the spear. Both sides were powerful. Who would win?"Let the battle begin!"As the battle commenced, the clash of spears echoed through the air. The fighters danced gracefully, each anticipating the other's moves. Qing Mao's spear sliced through the air with precision, displaying years of dedicated training. Sparks flew when the spears clashed. It was an intense duel. Ronan proved to be a master because of his expertise in spear-fighting. He fought her casually. At one point, Ronan's spear hit Mao and sent her flying across the arena. She got up again. This time, she could feel a rush of energy. Maybe anger, but that made her feel more active. She ran towards him and continued the duel.This time, Ronan was struggling. Since Mao was young, she could move around faster than Ronan. So taking that as an advantage, she struck him from the back, which made him land a few feet away. In the game, until the opponent loses their weapon.The battle was intense. Qing Mao made a move that made everyone astonished. It was a move that not everyone could master. As she and Ronan's spears clashed, Mao quickly moved her spear, lifted it, and launched it straight at the tip of Ronan's spear. The tips came in contact with such force that Mao's spear broke through the head of Ronan's spear, cracked it down to pieces, and sent it flying away. In the game, players can use their opponent's sword to attack them. So Ronan ran towards Mao's spear. But she was fast. She got it before him, rolled on the floor, and pointed the spear-head at Ronan's throat.Everyone froze at that moment. Then after Qing Mao lowered her spear, everyone applauded her. She had won. Qing Long applauded from his throne. Qing Mao had emerged victorious."Qing Mao, you have proven yourself as a true warrior of Palmara. May your strength and courage inspire generations to come!"Qing Mao, humbled and grateful, thanked the villagers for their support. The mysterious challenger, revealed to be a skilled warrior from a neighboring village, acknowledged Qing Mao's prowess with a respectful nod.Qing Mao went to the king, bowed down to him, and requested him to make her his guard. He accepted it. They celebrated that day with all the members of the Qing family.Later that evening, Mao and Qing Long spent their time together in the court, roaming around and seeing all the secret routes and hidden weapons. Qing Mao was amazed because she never noticed those things even though she used to roam around there a lot of times.They both sat on a sofa near the throne room. They casually talked about all the hard work Mao put in to become the Guardian of the king. That's when Qing Mao took her brother's hand, placed it below hers, and vowed to be by his side during every battle and protect him with her life.Qing Long laughed. He said that he would come to rescue her even though she was only a guard, because she was his sister, and he wouldn't let anything happen to her. Even though King Qing Long took her promise lightly, from the bottom of Qing Mao's heart, she had made the promise. She would do anything for him...
