What if: Grant didn't die from the fall, but Storm did?

Chapter 1: The Fall

(If you didn't read Born Wild! 1 and Born Wild! 2, it may be difficult to understand this book.)

There they were. Storm and his nemesis Ragnarok, standing meters above the ground, just standing on a little log that they used as a  bridge. Aurora tried to stop Storm from fighting, but River stopped her," This is their fight, Aurora." River said. 

Tears started forming in Aurora's eyes. Storm, a young dog with almost no experience, fighting against Ragnarok, King Of The Night-Lands with years of experience. It was pretty clear who would win, unless a miracle happened. 

Storm charged at the mighty King, and jumped up, trying to bump into Ragnarok's chest. Ragnarok chuckled, as he picked up Storm's head with ease, and threw him down, into the flaming Forest. 

"Storm!" Aurora screamed. 

Grant and Jade didn't hesitate. They jumped in, and followed Storm into the hot flames. 

After a few seconds, they both landed on the ground. Luckily, they didn't land in a flaming area. They winced in pain, but stood up. 

"Where is he?" Grant asked. 

"I don't know, but we have to find him! I can't lose him too!" Jade replied, worried for her brother's life. 

They quickly started to search. They stayed close, but both looked at the opposite directions. 

After a while, Jade broke the silence,"Where is he?" Jade whispered. 

Grant gasped. 

"You have an idea?" Jade asked. 

Grant couldn't reply. He couldn't believe his eyes. 

"Grant?" Jade asked. 

"J-J-J-Jade!" Grant managed to say. 

"Yea-" Jade gasped, as she had looked at the place where Grant was looking. 

"It can't be!" Jade said, to shocked to say anything else. 

Tears started to form in her eyes. 

"Storm!" She screamed, before running towards the body of her brother. 

She buried her nose into his fur. 

"Wake up!" Jade pleaded. 

Grant couldn't say anything. He felt insanely bad for Jade, as she had lost most of her family. 

He walked up to her. 

"You can't be gone! You're just playing dead, right Storm?" Jade asked throughout her tears. 

A feeling twisted Grant's stomach like a worm. 

Jade looked up. 

"He's gone, isn't he?" Jade asked. 

Grant slightly nodded.

Jade buried her nose into Storm's fur. 

"Jade, we have to go!" Grant announced sadly. 

"The fire is getting to close!" Grant said. 

Jade looked up.

"I love you, brother." Jade said, while looking at Storm's body. 

She stood up, and walked away with Grant, towards some rocks that looked like a staircase. 

Jade looked back at her brother's body one last time.

She turned around, and started heading to the staircase too. 

Jade gasped. 

Grant turned around,"Everything alright?" Grant asked. 

"How will Aurora react to this?" Jade asked.

Grant's eyes widened.
