EDWARD
"Edward, we gotta talk man." Marcel said, swinging my door open as if it wasn't 7 am. He was always up at the ass crack of dawn, but he knew I liked to sleep until at least 9.
"What?" I whined into my pillow. "Can't it wait?"
"Well, not really. I have to go get Louis in like half an hour, I don't want to leave him home waiting." He replied.
"You act like he's a child or something," I sighed heavily. "He's 22."
"Well his parents leave the house at seven, and I like to be there in time to get him."
"It's not like he needs you to get him the second they leave, he's not in any sort of danger if they aren't home." I replied. I wasn't unsympathetic, but I figured the guy could probably use a little alone time, to sleep or hang out or whatever he liked to do. "Besides, if you're getting him soon, couldn't you talk to me after? I'm not even awake."
"Yes you are." Marcel said, as I put my arms over my head.
"I'm not."
"Seriously Edward, c'mon."
I rolled my eyes, but sat up anyway. "What is it then?"
"I wanted to talk about last night."
"Yeah? What about it?" I replied.
"You totally made decisions without us. That's dangerous Edward, if you did something wrong it could fuck up all of our lives." He said, deadpan.
"What did I do? I thought we were trying to keep Marie in close proximity now, I was just going with the plan." I said, rubbing my eyes as Marcel walked over and opened the curtains to reveal the bright sunlight.
"We are, but that doesn't mean asking her to literally live with us the first day we actually met her for the first time." He muttered angrily.
"I thought I was making things easier for us, plus, she did say yes." I countered.
"You're lucky she did. Honestly, if it wasn't like 2 am, she probably wouldn't have accepted the offer. She was just tired." Marcel said.
"Regardless, she still accepted." I shrugged, "You should be thanking me."
"I'm not thanking you for your carelessness." He shook his head, "I'm just telling you to be more careful. You can't slip up and say something to give us away. She's not going to want to hear what her sweet, innocent cousin was up to, don't you think?"
"I didn't say anything even close to that."
"That's not the point. The point is that you slipped up, I mean that campaign committee bullshit? Harry saved your ass with that. And then the whole blanket thing? Don't you think there's a reason Harry didn't hand it over?" He shook his head. "You're just making everything look so suspicious. You need to let us handle things."
I held back the tears welling up in my eyes. "I'm trying to help okay? I'm sorry that I'm not as good at this as you guys are."
"Just... try harder okay?" Marcel's voice turned gentle. "I know you're trying, but we have to be so careful. The only reason we want her close is so no one comes after her. She doesn't need to know anything."
I nodded, blinking a few times.
"Also, you gotta stop with the flirting. No offense, but it's a little creepy how forward you are." He added in a whisper. "Plus, dating her would only make things more difficult for everyone."
"Got it." I groaned, "Can I go back to sleep now?"
He nodded, "I'm gonna be gone today. Dad's flying in with a new supply. I probably won't be home until about 8."
