My eyes abruptly shoot open right as I'm about to fall asleep. Instantly my head is going crazy thinking how Adrastus would have found out my name, then I come to realize that I haven't seen my bag since the day I came to the building. He had my ID, of course... and my credit card... and my address. Well shit. Thoughts were racing through my mind on what I should do, I definitely couldn't sleep with this on my mind but its not like I could get up and leave... or can I?
I stood from my bed to check the door only for it to be locked. Nevermind. Damnit! I really needed to find my stuff, if I had my phone I could actually escape! I had a house I needed to get back to, remember? I have important things to worry about like- like... my cat! Yeah. Poor baby she's probably starving.
I hadn't been really thinking about escaping as much as I should've been. Maybe I didn't want to? Maybe it wasn't important to me? No! Of course going home is important. I'd feel bad if it wasn't! Even if its hard to think of reasons why it should be.

Regardless, I needed to find something to pick the lock with. I searched through the drawers again, just incase I missed something from my last search. Still nothing of use.
As I paced around the room to search I felt a bobby-pin in my hair when I reached to touch my head. I almost squealed but I covered my mouth to silence it. Pulling it out of my scalp I bend it to a better shape and shove it in the doorknob. I fiddled and shook it for a good while before I heard the click, slowly turning the knob and opening the door. Oh my god that worked.
My heart was racing and I was heavy breathing like I had run a marathon; I had to play this incredibly safe, getting caught wouldn't be an option.

I slipped out the door, nearly shutting it behind me leaving it only slightly ajar. Sneaking down the somewhat familiar hallway I peeked through the window of every door. I didn't know where to look, until I remember the stairwell. There was a short hallway upstairs with an office and a few other rooms. It had to be up there.
Passing the stairwell entrance I quietly tip-toe inside, slowly stepping up the stairs until I finally reached the top. I see the office room, but the next door that comes into sight makes me nearly flatline.
"Angelopoulos, Adrastus" The door was labeled.
Judging by the looks of it, that was his room. I gripped the fabric of my shirt tightly in my fingers as I controlled my rapid breathing. One wrong move and I'm done for. I whispered a prayer before quietly but quickly stepping toward the office, slipping through the door and closing it behind me.

In the room I see the very same desk and chair I remember from a while back. It's all a blur, but I still precisely remember the feeling of the needle in my flesh, the ropes on my wrists, and Adrastus with that intimidating stare. I shuddered.
Doesn't matter now, cause I'm escaping. I rummage through some drawers and cabinets, nothing particularly catching my eye until I reach a bigger cabinet, inside I see my wallet sitting on a shelf. Yes! I'm saved.
Immediately I go to grab for it but something else catches my eye before I do. A large bag of cat food with a sticky note on it. I kneel down to look closer and upon further inspection I find my cats name written on it.

Huh?

My shoulders relax and my expression softens.
Was he feeding my cat?
I was confused, shocked, but above all grateful. How did he know? I guess he had my address from my card, but why? Why would he do that? I took another look at the wallet sitting on the shelf, but something inside me told me no. I couldn't do it. I don't know what was urging me to stay, but it was far greater than my urge to leave. I knew my cat was okay at least, so I didn't have anything or anyone else to worry about.
I stood up, staring at the shelf for another moment before closing the cabinet back up. This could easily take the win for the most regrettable decision I'd ever make, yet it almost felt right- At least for a little bit. When I started to walk toward the exit I feel a chill down my spine. All the fear starts coming back to me, worsening with every step I take until I open the door. I immediately regret my decision when I'm faced with a familiar man with long hair, standing behind the doorframe with slightly widened eyes. He was gonna kill me, figuratively I hope.
I yelp, almost falling as I take steps backwards. Im hyperventilating as Adrastus steps in the room, shutting and locking the door behind him before further approaching me. Im frantically looking around the room to find something to defend myself with because he looked like he was intending to hurt me, or worse. He looked pissed. I find a pen on the desk that looked sharp enough to be somewhat useful. There was nothing else I could find so I had no other choice but to grab it and point it at him.
"No! Stop-" I try to strike a hit at him when he came closer but he blocked it and grabbed hold of my wrist, making me let go of the pen. I try to fight out of it but Im quickly apprehended, my back pushed against a wall with both my wrists pinned above my head as I'm squirming to escape. Adrenaline is pulsing through my body while I begin to regret every decision I've made leading up to now. I'm totally done for and it's completely my fault.
"How did you escape your room?" Adrastus speaks sternly and intimidatingly, I have no choice but to answer.
