    CARTER 'CC' CAPRISE : carter was a loner in school, but she was smart and did sports. nobody really payed her any mind except for one girl, clementine. clementine was in the year below her, but she was a sweet girl, her and carter talked and talked and shortly became best friends. one day they were at clementine's house, a babysitter watching over them while both of their parents were off in savannah, they were up in clementine's treehouse when all they heard were cars crashing, glass breaking, and sandra screaming. they were scared out of their minds, seeking comfort in each other, a couple hours later they a car crash and gunshots in the forest behind their house. being the curious children they are, they went to go check it out, carter shielding clementine behind her as they watch a man limp and yell at them. shortly after they soon learn that the man's name is lee after talking to him, he takes them into his care, hoping to shield them from the dangers of this cruel world.
