Sam prayed to Castiel so many times. So many times and as soon as Dean does it once he finally answers. He asks Cas for help and he doesn't want to give it. Dean asks him for help and Cas would sell his soul in a heartbeat for him (if he had a soul). He only helps Sam if it's for Dean's benefit. Sam isn't only annoyed; he's jealous.

He's given up on calling to Castiel himself, so when he wants to talk to him alone he has to wait until he ends up alone with him. Cas is helping them on a case. They had regrouped in the motel and Dean had left unexpectedly to "deal with something". This would usually piss Sam off because he hates when Dean keeps secrets from him and he clearly is, but this is his opportunity.

"Why don't I go check the scene out again," Cas says, clearly just not wanting to be alone in the motel with Sam.

"Wait Cas," Sam stops him, pulling him away from the door by his bicep. Cas looks at him inquisitively. "We need to talk."

"What do we need to talk about Sam?" Cas asks. Sam sits down on the couch and pats the coffee table in front of him, signaling Cas to sit right across from him. Cas complies reluctantly.

"We need to talk about your so called 'profound bond' with Dean," he says, looking Castiel deep in his eyes, making Cas uncomfortable.

"I don't know what you're insinuating," he says with the air of someone who was just accused of having a mistress.

"Point is, I want to have a profound bond with you too. Maybe then you'll actually answer my prayers," Sam says.

"I don't think you can just make that Sam," Cas says awkwardly.

"I think you can Cas. I think you just don't want to. You always look so nervous around me, like you're waiting for me to snap. I used to think it was the demon blood, but now that I'm long clean I realize it's not. I also think you aren't nervous about me snapping. You're nervous you will," Sam says seriously. Cas sweats nervously, feeling a weight in the pit of his stomach and tightness in his chest. What is happening?

"I- Sam- I don't," Cas stutters.

"Oh I know. You have no idea what I'm talking about," Sam says in a condescending tone. "So why don't I make it easy for you and tell you how I think we can go about creating that profound bond."

"Okay," Cas swallows nervously.

"Intimacy."

"Intimacy?"

"Yes. Intimacy," Sam says.

"What do you mean?" Cas says, heartbeat speeding up impossibly fast.

"I mean nothing will bring us closer faster than being intimate. Now there are several ways to do that and we can do all of them, but I think we should start with the big kahuna of it all."

"Are you talking about hugging, dinner for two at a fancy restaurant... kissing?" Cas asks.

"It'll involve the kissing and hugging, sure. And we can do dinner if you really want to," Sam winks.

Cas swallows and lowers his voice to a whisper, "Sam are you suggesting that we have... intercourse."

"If you want to yes," Sam says.

"Y-yeah, if you want to," Cas says, blushing beet red.

"I wouldn't be suggesting it if I didn't want to Cas," Sam laughs softly.

"Oh, yeah. Of course," Cas chuckles nervously. Sam stands up, pulling Cas up with him by his tie. He pulls off Cas's trench coat for him. Cas just stands there like an idiot. Sam puts his hands on Cas's waist, Cas silently marveling at just how much of him is covered by Sam's huge hands. Sam leans down gently and kisses Cas. Cas immediately kisses back. The kissing lasts incredibly long until Sam pulls back for the air that Cas doesn't need, Cas desperately trying to follow Sam's lips, until he realizes Sam pulled away on purpose.
