Even When I'm Not With You

Jaemin once again felt empty, his head against the mattress below him. Maybe the pink hair dye was getting to him. He had come home to frantic brothers, Donghyuck worried he had been kidnapped as well or worse. Jaemin had the files showing locations that their managers had owned, including the club they had all resided at. Knowing Chenle was taken by these men, there was a large chance he was kept at one of these locations.

Everyone else had been in the room as well, or whoever had shared this room. Donghyuck had been sat next to Jaemin, and he could tell he was staring at him. Jeno sat off talking to some of the other boys, everyone seeming to like him.

The brown haired boy leaned forward to rub at Jaemin's arm, Jaemin flinching from the slight touch. Donghyuck sighed.
"Jaemin.."

Jaemin sat still, taking a deep inhale as he continued to look at the ceiling above him. He held the breath deep in his lungs, before letting his chest fall as he exhaled. He already knew what Donghyuck was going to question him about. Jaemin hummed in response.

"How did you get these files?" Donghyuck whispered to the boy.

The pink haired boy continued to stare at the ceiling, his limbs still as he listened to Donghyuck's question. He wasn't going to tell him, he really couldn't.

Donghyuck's hand raised to rub a hand against Jaemin's hair, the boy closing his eyes at the feeling before he opened them again to look over at Donghyuck. He still didn't say anything, which just got a small smile from the other boy.

"You're a really good person, Jaemin."

Jaemin stared, no emotion evident in his face. But deep down he felt love for the boy next to him, his brother, his friend. His eyes glossed over, but no tears or sounds ever found their way out of the boy. He didn't want to speak, afraid if he did then the tears would surely spill. All the words he wanted to speak getting caught in his throat.

But it was okay, as Donghyuck continued to rub over his hair. They both didn't speak, the brown haired boy just trying his best to comfort Jaemin, and to an extent, it was working. Jaemin loved his brothers, and he really loved Donghyuck.

Footsteps were heard next to them, and they both looked up to see Jeno. He hadn't made eye contact with Donghyuck, keeping his attention on Jaemin on the ground. Jaemin could see how Donghyuck rose a brow at the two though.

Jeno sat down next to Jaemin as well, his legs crossed as he looked at the boy. He wasn't smiling, but he wasn't upset. Jaemin was scared he would be upset at him when he found out what happened today.
"How are you, Bun?"

Jaemin stared at him, his eyes lingering into his. The moon from the window shining over the features of his face. Jaemin gulped a bit.
"Fine." He whispered back.

Donghyuck scoffed from next to them, getting up as he rolled his eyes.
"Can't talk to your brother but can talk to your little boyfriend."

Jaemin blushed as Jeno snorted, leaning over Jaemin to shove at the brown haired boy.
"I'm not his boyfriend."

The pink haired boy felt a bit of disappointment ride through his stomach at Jeno's statement. He knew they weren't together, and they probably never would be, but it still hurt to think about. He couldn't have Jeno in the first place, he wasn't supposed to.

After Donghyuck finally left, Jeno brought his attention back to Jaemin, staring at him for a bit. They didn't say anything, just looking at each other for a moment, taking each other in. Jeno still didn't smile, Jaemin growing a strange feeling in his stomach at the thought of it. Was he angry?

"What happened today?" Jeno asked.

Jaemin felt his stomach clench further, not wanting to even think about the events of today. His body felt grimy still, even though he had taken a hot shower. He watched as Jeno's eyes still stayed sunken in on him, his heart worrying with the fear of Jeno growing disgusted by him.
