It had been many months since Nania came to live at the mansion. She did not speak a single word to anyone because of the cruel things the Duke was making her do with him had broken her. Every time the Dukes doctor would report that Nania failed to conceive a child for the Duke, he would retaliate with beating her and even try again.
Nania had no malicious intent to fail time and time again to conceive a child with the duke. She was actually hoping more that she would so he would leave her alone. She was told by Sasha, one of the Dukes other consorts that the only time the Duke is ever nice to them is when they are officially pregnant. She actually looked forward to it as that meant for nine sweet months she would be free from his torture and be able to just be at peace.

She had been living with the Duke for 6 long terrible months. One day Atreus was tired of hearing nothing but Nania crying in her room, even after Lanna and Mia, Nania's Handmaidens, did their best to cheer her up. Atreus had suggested a nice quiet stroll in the woods on the back part of the mansions land. Nania agreed and got dressed in one of the gaudy blue dresses she was forced to wear to make the Duke happy. Every dress she owned did its best to show off the size of her chest as the duke thought that was her best asset, besides her beautiful face. She grabbed something to cover her shoulders and went with Atreus outside into the Garden.
As Atreus and Nania reached the outskirts of the forest one of the guards doing their rounds warned the two to watch their step as the Duke had a hunter place a large amount of bear traps around inside the forest. Apparently something as large as a bear had been sneaking into the lands and eating the Duke's chickens. Nania thanked the man for his kind warning and Atreus stood as close behind Nania as the both of them were comfortable him being.
As they walked in the quiet forest, nania gently placed her hands upon the trees. She enjoyed nature as it was the only thing that made her forget her horrible life. She looked back to Atreus and smiled at him sweetly to thank him for his suggestion. Suddenly they heard the sound of something whimpering. Atreus quickly grabbed onto Nania's shoulders pulling her close to his muscular form to keep her protected.
"Let me go see what that is. Could be the creature they put these traps out for." Atreus gently moves around Nania towards the whimpering. After a few feet he stops in his tracks, Nania behind him and she peeks over his shoulder to see a large Green and Black furred wolf. It looks up and as soon as it notices Atreus it stops whimpering and starts to growl. Atreus raised his arm against Nania to hold her back.
"Wait, its only growling to protect itself. I know what to do." She moves under his arm and slowly moves towards the wolf holding her hand out carefully. The wolf continues to growl but as Nania slowly moves her hand towards the trap latch it stops and realizes that she is helping it.
"Its ok. I dont want to hurt you. Just like you a bad man has left large traps to cause pain to me too." She gives the wolf a slight sweet smile and then flicks the latch and the trap opens quickly releasing the wolf's paws. Quickly Nania backs up and into Atreus' arms as he holds her close giving the wolf a look to show that he is her protector. The wolf attempts to stand but its leg is badly hurt from the trap that it yelps in pain. Nania tries to reach out but is stopped by Atreus who holds her tight. She places her hand upon his arm and gives him a look and a nod to tell him that its ok. He lets her go gently and watches her as she carefully crawls back towards the wolf. She grabs the hem of her skirt and in one quick move she tears some of the fabric from it. She slowly wraps the fabric around the wolf's hurt leg and then gently places her hand upon the side of its face. Nania smiles as the wolf gently rubs its face into her hand.
"You are just a sweet little baby. Probably no older than maybe a year. You should get back to your mother and stay off these lands." Nania speaks softly in hopes the wolf understands her. It gets up quickly and then bounds off towards the edge of the Mansion's property. The wolf bounding off causes Nania to fall back a little and she falls into Atreus' arms. She looks up and notices how close to his face she was. If it wasnt for the Helmet he wore, it would be even more awkward.
"We should get back before the Duke realizes you are gone." Atreus gently places his hand upon her shoulder and she slightly nods, her face a little red.
