Seokjin begins to panic.

He didn't think this through. The owner slash original main chef is going to give him away whenever Jungkook comes into the restaurant. He's going to walk right up to Jungkook and say something along the lines of, "Hey, Jungkook! It's been a while! Have you met our new chef, Kim Seokjin— your possible soulmate who lied and hid his name from you?"

Yes, he's being dramatic. But there's still a chance that Chef Kim will let Seokjin's name slip up in conversation. A very high chance. Seokjin is terrified of those chances.

When Jungkook comes into the restaurant and Chef Kim heads out to meet him, Seokjin's heart races dangerously in his chest.

"Jeon Jungkook! My, my, my, I can't believe it!" Chef Kim exaggerates as he welcomes Jungkook into the restaurant, earning glances from curious and shocked customers. Jungkook grins wide, all his teeth on display, and Seokjin stares in awe.

"Chef Kim!" Jungkook and the chef do a little bow to each other and immediately, Jungkook asks, "Since when did you step down from being head chef?"

"Ah, you know how it is," the old chef says with a twinge of doubt in his voice. "Old age and wanting to settle down. And our new chef is a fantastic cook, have you met him? Kim—"

"Jin!" Seokjin yells as he steps out onto the floor. All eyes turn to him and his ears grow red as he looks the singer in his wide eyes as well. He clears his throat and says more confidently, "Jin. My name is Jin." He goes up to the two and bows. "I'll be helping Chef Kim cook today."

Chef Kim must not see anything suspicious or different because he calls Seokjin by his nickname Jin all the time. It's because Taehyung always used to yell "Jin hyung!" and his parents took in the name as well.

"Oh?" Jungkook softly smiles at him and Seokjin's mind goes blank. All he can think about is how gorgeous and precious the man's smile is. "Well, would you mind cooking me whatever today's special soup is?"

Chef Kim begins to explain what today's specials are, but Seokjin keeps his eyes on the celebrity, who also occasionally glances over at him, their gazes meeting and causing Seokjin to blush like a fool.

But he can't look away.

Not until Jungkook lifts his hand to brush his hair out of his face. It's not until then that Seokjin catches a slip of red underneath his sleeve and Seokjin holds back a gasp as he sees the first syllable of his name; Kim.

He follows Jungkook's wrist with his eyes, trying not to be obvious, but he sees it and immediately looks away because he's gotten his answer now.

Jungkook must've noticed Seokjin's glance down at his wrist because he quickly pulls his sleeve over his skin as he continues talking to Chef Kim. Seokjin isn't positive, but he knows that some celebrities hide their soulmate's name in order to keep delusions rolling with their fanbases and keep the person safe.

He wonders if Jungkook forgot to hide it.

Seokjin didn't forget to hide his. That's for damn sure.

"I'll go start your meal then," the elder chef says to Jungkook before giving him a kind smile and heading towards the back, leaving Jungkook and Seokjin standing there by themselves— with Jungkook's bodyguard.

"Um... I should..." He points towards the kitchen and Jungkook lets out a little giggle that sounds like music to his ears.

"Go on, Jin-ssi. I'll be waiting right here."

Something about the reassurance makes Seokjin feel sad. He wants Jungkook to be "right here" at all times. But it's just not meant to be between a super famous celebrity and a chef in a small town restaurant.

"We'll have your order out shortly, Jungkook-ssi."

He leaves Jungkook there, accepting defeat.
