It's the fifth day since Jungkook has arrived in town. Seokjin rushed out the door this morning because he couldn't sleep well last night and he was almost late to work. He forgot to put a bandaid over the name on his wrist. However, he doesn't realize that just yet.

He sighs out of relief when he gets into the restaurant kitchen and Hoseok raises a brow at him, but doesn't question it.

"Morning," he says before getting to work, wondering what Jungkook plans to order today– he definitely should not be wondering such things.

"Good morning," Hoseok greets him in return. "Short day ahead of us," he says with a smile. Wednesdays are usually short days– not by the hour, but the lack of customers and pure goofing around in the back. They usually chill on these kinds of days.

So that's what they do.

When late noon arrives, the restaurant bell rings and Seokjin can practically hear the gasp from a girl inside the seating area. The celebrity must be here.

Sure enough, the waitress comes to the back with an order for Jeon Jungkook and Seokjin is pleased to see that he's ordered steak and rice. Seokjin absolutely loves steak and is happy to cook it for him.

It's no surprise when the waitress comes back again and asks Seokjin to come out and talk to Jungkook. There's only one other person in the restaurant who already got their order, so it isn't like he's wasting Seokjn's time or anything. But Seokjin dreads having to talk to his soulmate knowing damn well he can't be with him. It strains his heart.

Still, he goes out with his head held high and he smiles at Jungkook as he walks up to his table.

"Did you enjoy your meal?" he asks. "I'm hoping you didn't call me out here to tell me how horrible it was or something."

Jungkook giggles. "No, not at all. It tasted amazing," he tells the chef, looking up at him with stars in his eyes. "Chef Jin-ssi, could you tell me how you cooked this? Is it something I could make at home? It tastes so good."

Seokjin's shoulders rise with pride.

"Of course, you can make it at home." He points at the steak to explain, "There's a special marination that I used and a few seasonings. As for the rice, it's the same. I can write down a recipe if you'd like me to."

Jungkook agrees, pulling out his phone and clicking on his notes app. "Thank you so much. You could type it out here." He hands Seokjin his phone and the woman in the back of the restaurant stares at them with wide eyes. Seokjin ignores her and begins typing while showing Jungkook.

"Okay so here is all the ingredients," he says as he types them down the list. Then he goes down a few spaces to write down the directions. "You'll have to really get the sauce all up in the meat–"

"Wait." Jungkook furrows his eyebrows, looking confused, and he looks up into Seokjin's eyes. "Jin-ssi... your wrist."

Seokjin's eyes widen and he immediately looks down at his wrist. It's perfectly displaying the red name on it and his lips part in surprise as he realizes he's messed up. There's nothing covering the name and obviously Jungkook saw it.

Shit.

"T-That's my name," Jungkook stutters quietly. Seokjin's eyes meet his again and he feels sick to his stomach once he notices the hurt in Jungkook's eyes. "Why... Why did you hide it? Do you not like me? A-Are you really Kim Seokjin?"

The pout on Jungkook's lips and the evident heartbreak in his gaze makes Seokjin feel so awful.

"Jungkook-ssi," he whispers, not wanting anyone to hear them. "You're a global star and I cook steaks for a living, here in this small town. I doubt you'd want a life with me in it."

Jungkook's lips part. "What?" he asks as if he's offended by Seokjin's words. He stands up from his chair and grabs his phone from Seokjin, pocketing it. "Can you take me somewhere private? Please?"

Seokjin nods, hanging his head low in defeat. He leads Jungkook to the very back, in the breakroom where nobody is in right now, and he closes the door so nobody can hear their conversation. Jungkook stands tall in front of him, making him feel small.

"You decided this all on your own?" he calmly asks Seokjin. "That you live a different life than me, so you're willing to just throw me out the door?"

Seokjin frowns. "It's not like that," he mumbles quietly. "I just didn't think you'd want to be with me. I've never done long distance before and I don't plan on moving to Seoul, Jungkook. I know it's a decision I made all on my own and I'm sorry for not telling you. I just thought it would be easier."

Jungkook's shoulders fall and he frowns as well. "I don't care about what's easier. I- I want to be with my soulmate."

Again, Seokjin's head falls in shame. "I do too."

Jungkook lifts his hands to gently cup Seokjin's cheeks and it's so, so nice and warm. "Then be with me," he says, and his eyes fall to the name on his wrist. "Be with me, Kim Seokjin. Let's not worry about what's going to be hard or easy on us. You're my soulmate for a reason. We're meant to be for a reason. I can feel it."

Seokjin lets himself melt into Jungkook's touch, letting the younger caress his cheek.

"Okay," he murmurs. "If you're willing, then so am I. But only if you're really willing to."

Jungkook smiles softly in return. "I'm more than willing. Trust me."
