After chemistry, Thomas continued to his fourth period class: AP World History.

Somehow, having passed his English class last year with a B- after getting lucky on the final, he and his friends had somehow actually qualified for AP World History which they all decided to take together. Getting lucky once again, they were all out in the same period. Not only that, but the teacher rarely lectured. In fact, the only work they ever really received were in the form of textbook notes and worksheets, so it was basically a free period for him.

For some reason, at this moment, Thomas could help but think of Elaina and how hard he had seen her working to qualify for all the top classes compared to his group of friends who got lucky. Even though the end result was the same, he no longer felt like the mocking words they had used to make fun of her diligent efforts were anything but petty insults that demeaned her true efforts and dedication.

"So? How'd it go?" Thomas' friends all asked him as they sat down in their usual group when they walked into their World History class.

"What? Huh?" Thomas asked as they interrupted his thoughts and he was sharply brought back to reality.

"Oooooh, thinking about someone? We were asking you about how the date went, but it looks like it went pretty well if you're daydreaming about her now," Jason laughed as he teased Thomas.

"Don't tell me you actually fell for that cripple!" Laura laughed loudly.

"Oh, not even!" Thomas said as he rolled his eyes and hoped that his slight blush wasn't noticeable as he remembered Elaina feeding him her yogurt parfait.

Fortunately for him, though his face felt hot, his blush went unnoticed by his friends.

"So then, you wouldn't mind going on another date with her again, would you?"

"I'd rather die."

"Well then, we know what his next punishment will be if he scores last on the next test again!" Jason laughed as the rest of his friends followed suit.

"Make sure you score last again!" Josh said.

"Yeah, so we can finally kill you!"

Thomas rolled his eyes.

"Come on guys, stop messing with him. Class is about to start anyways," Peter turned around and told them just as the bell rang as Thomas gave him a thankful nod, appreciative of Peter's help in freeing him from that awkward situation.

Once the class began, Ms. Cheng, their teacher, quickly took attendance.

"There is a review guide with practice questions on Schoology for you all to work on to help you review for the AP exam, if you signed up for it, and your third quarter final for this class. It contains questions covering all things that will be covered on the final in a few weeks. You have the next two weeks plus the rest of this week to study for it. It'll basically be a practice AP test, so make sure you prepare for it like how you might for the real exam. Before that, however, we have another quiz on the chapters you were supposed to be taking notes on which we're due today. If you haven't turned your notes in yet, you can still turn them in on Schoology by midnight for full credit."

After the quiz, everyone passed their papers forward down their rows to the front of the class and to Ms. Cheng who collected them and went back to her desk and started grading them. By the end of class, they had all gotten their test scores back.

Thomas sighed as he recieved his score back.

Thomas: 1/5.
