You stood alone in your dorm room. The start of something new. Something different. Your final year of high school you felt as though you didn't fully apply yourself socially. No one new was aloud in your life, because of what happened last time. Jungkook nor you reached out to one another after your birthday. Still he's on your mind constantly, it's starting to feel like an infection more than love. For an entire year you just went to school, went home and thought about him. Why would you do that to yourself? This question was prying at you everyday, but no more. A different place meant you were free of everything to do with him.
A knocked at your door tore you away from the overwhelming thoughts of your past year. Walking over to the tall dark wooden door you peaked through the small peep hole. Your father. Of course. He's been showing up a lot more since you agreed to go to college for law. You opened the door.
"My daughter, the law student."
Your father greeted you with a hug, hugging him back with a tired sigh. Over his shoulder you could see his now fiancee, the woman he left your mother for. Pulling back from the hug you gave her a small smile. She always seemed nervous around you and your sister, she understands the part she played in your parents marriage coming apart, but it as going to happen eventually no matter if she was there or not.
"I have something planned for us this evening."
Your father said. You quirked your eyebrow at his announcement. A surprise?
"Tonight we are going to have dinner with your fiancé."
"Huh?"
You immediately questioned him.
"You are going to meet the man you're going to marry after you graduate."
He explained. Your chest became tight. So it's just like that. You're going to meet him and then what, are you expected to date him? Your skin crawled at the idea of anyone's lips but Jungkook's, quickly you swatted that out of your mind though. This man might be nice, everyone deserves a fair chance.
"What time?"
You questioned, your father smiled happily.

You stirred the ice around your water with your straw. Your father had left the table to retrieve your new fiancé. You were left with your soon to be step mother. Everything about this felt strange. These people weren't your family. You wished you were sat at a table with your mother and sister, telling them you were going to marry Jungkook. This, this felt off.
The dress you were wearing was nice, something your mother had given you as a present for your 18th birthday. A string of pearls sat on your neck with matching earrings to go with them, a gift from your father.
"Are you nervous?"
You looked up from your new found interest and turned your attention to the woman across the table.
"I'm not sure actually, I feel like this isn't real."
"It doesn't feel real because it's something you don't want. This isn't you, none of it. I can tell."
You chewed on the inside of your cheek, are you that easy to read?
"I fell in love and I can't shake it. I haven't even seen him in almost two years but he's always on my mind."
It all fell out of you. You just had to tell someone, maybe it would help.
"You got it bad huh?"
You nodded, unsure what else to say. It's going to take a lot to move on from him.
