- void, the neighboorhood
It's been 2 days since Alana and I have met Noah & Miles, 2 days which means it's Monday. I haven't been able to get Noah out of my head. No matter how hard I try to focus I just can't think of how wrong I was for assuming he would've been some whore. It's crazy really, he is like the complete opposite. My first class of the day is at 10am and it's Media Writing. It's an enjoyable class but I can't wait for communications the only class that Noah and I have together. I just can't wait to see him honestly. He texted me all the details for his upcoming hockey game and saying I am excited is an understatement honestly. Alana is also coming with me to see Miles, so it's going to be a lot of fun!
Suddenly I feel a nudge in my shoulder, "Hey, the professor is asking you a question..."
"Sydney, I am assuming you want extra assignments since your not paying attention in my class?"
"Sorry sir, I got a bit distracted. Whats your question?"
"I don't like to repeat myself Sydney, but I will for you." I flinched at him saying this, what the fuck? But he continues asking the question, "What is the difference between in-depth news articles and feature articles?"
"In-depth articles are stories with more details, like more in-depth of the person, place, or organization. But feature articles are more of just a brief start to finish explanation on the topic your telling the mass media about."
"Great job Sydney, that was just the gir- um answer I was looking for."
I almost choke on my water when he had a near slip up. Fuckin' creep.
FINALLY the class is over, usually the class is more enjoyed but for some reason the professor is enjoyed by something else. I'm packing up everything into my bag when I hear someone call my name.
"Sydney, would you mind staying after class I would like to talk to you about something?"
"Sir, I have a tight schedule I really can't stay." I most definitely could stay but I'm not making time for him after this little act he pulled in class today. "Goodbye sir."
I nearly sprinted out of the class, I need to find Alana I can't take this anymore my anxiety is through the roof right now and I am on the verge of tears.
"Syd, are you okay?" I am stopped in the hallway by someone I am very happy to see but can't admit the truth to.
"Uh yeah I am, um fine, Noah."
"You look like your about to cry, I don't want to see you cry Sydney please." He pulls me closer to him in a hug and I just feel the small tears get wiped onto his shirt.
"I-I'm sorry."
"For what? Don't be sorry!"
"I'm ruining your shirt and instead of doing what you need to do I'm bothering you."
"Sydney, please you are not bothering me at all. I want to help you." He starts rubbing small circles on my back and now I can't even focus on why i'm upset.
"It's just my professor in my last class just made me uncomfortable, I just needed a break from him."
"Want to find a seat or go do something to take your mind off of it."
"It's okay Noah, really. You should get to your next class."
"My next class is communications, with you. Don't worry about me, I really don't like to see you cry." He hugs me even tighter and I feel more comforted than I ever have in a long time.
"Than I suppose we could go out for a little bit and come back for class."
"Of course we can, let's go!" He quickly puts my arm through his and we walk over to a small courtyard with food trucks and stands.
Once we arrive I see girls giving me the glare, and then as soon as their eyes go to Noah I swear I can see hearts in them. Noah seems to not really mind, he just continues to one of the tables and we sit down.
"So, do you want to do anything or just hang out?"
"I don't really mind, we can do whatever you want." I would hate to be a difficult person so I quickly offer him to do what he pleases to do.
"Do you like to read?"
"Is that even a question!? Who doesn't?! Reading is my hobby!" I have the biggest goofiest smile right now, I can't believe he just asked me this!
"There's a bookstore down the street if you want to go, I can show you!"
"That would be wonderful, thank you Noah!"
We get up from the table and walk down the street, as soon as I see the sign my mouth is in an O shape, and excitedly run in.
"Noah, how do you know about this place? Do you like to read?"
"I love to read! But i'm usually scared to admit it." He started laughing but he did seem kind of shy to admit it.
"That's adorable," I can't believe he loves to read. "What's your favorite genres?"
"Okay so this is like totally embarrassing," he starts giving me a huge smile while saying this all around a laugh. "I like reading poetry, and Historical Fiction."
"NO WAY!" Honestly my brain is mush right now. "Poetry, were you like sent down to earth from Heaven?" He starts chuckling when I say that.
"Well lets start book shopping I want to see if they have any poetry done by Mary Oliver." He nearly rips my arm out of socket we dash to the poetry section.
2 hours later
"That was a lot of fun Noah. I don't think I could thank you enough for that."
"No problem," We start heading back towards our building for class, "We should hang out more."
"I think we should too." I smile and grab his wrist while we walk. He quickly pushes his hand away and says, "Here." Than we start walking with our fingers intertwined and now we are holding hands.
I'm so glad I get to have Noah as a friend...
A/N: Shorter chapter, please give me tips & corrections its my first time writing!! I will take criticism even if it isn't the nicest, I want to grow as an author. :)
