After Topper left Maddie and Rafe had watched both two seasons of Euphoria
- You know... somehow I feel like certain parts kinda relate to how our lives look. - What do mean? Maddie asked confused but partly worried
- I'm just saying that like, with everything that has been going on with my problems... and kinda our friends. I feel like there are similarities that I kinda see
Maddie didn't wanna talk more about that, partly cause she new it was a soar subject around his dad and also the substance. The fact that it was also 3am was also a factor
- Rafe we really should go to sleep. - Yeah.. we'll I'll head home I guess - Yeah right, after almost a decade of knowing me you think I'm letting you go home at this time?! She rolled her eyes
-I know, I just wanted you to ask me Rafe winked and walked up the stairs into her room
- you know that we still have a guest room witch you practically have half of your belongings in right?
(Maddie and her father had always gotten along well and when he got to kinda know how Ward treated Rafe her father had taken him in like his own, he always tried to be there. Like the time when Rafe and Ward argued so bed that he was temporarily forbidden to even step inside his own house, Markus (Maddie's dads name) had slowed him to move in with them and had also talked to Ward, trying to understand why he would do something like that.)
- I know but your bed is soooo much more comfortable and it's not like we haven't shared bed before Rafe just shrugged
- fine I'll let you sleep in here if you don't snore the whole fucking night, like seriously how has a girl ever been able to slept with you??

Maddie rolled her eye at his remark and went into the bathroom to brush her teeth and change.

When she walked into the room Rafe was laying on top of the covers in just his boxers,
- wow it's almost like I've seen that shirt before, although it was a while ago when I think about it
She just hits him on the arm
- and for someone who has clothes I don't know why you haven't put any on - it's so hot in here, I'll die if I do and also don't complain. We've been over this just admit I'm hot
- The only hot thing in here is me if I'll excuse you She sat on the bed and pushed him to the other side so she'd have any space to lie on
- I'm not disagreeing, only half - mhm
Maddie feel asleep quick and so would Rafe also had if it wasn't cause he was laying in the same bed as Maddie. He hated it (not really) but he had to admit that since the last year there was just something different between them, he knew they were grownups now but he feels like something had changed. Maddie had always been a girl who liked attention, she was used to dress in short skirts and cute tops and she was a tease even she knew that, but there was also something about how bold she was, always standing up for him no mater against who not even his father. She had never been afraid to say what she thought and even although that she spoke freely about most things nobody hate or had anything against her, it was like she was untouchable.
Rafe had always felt some sort of connection like he was drawn towards her, she was his gravity, the only thing keeping him down to earth.
But this past year he noticed a difference sort in gravity, it wasn't just the sort that made sure his feet felt the ground NO. If he was away from her under a longer time it was like a rubber band had extended and was trying so desperately hard to go back to its original form, Maddie & Rafe, Togheter like it had always been. He wanted to be there to protect her from anything even though he knew nothing that existed in nature would ever be so evil to hurt her. Maddie wasn't just a special girl she was someone you would never be able to find the right words for.
Cause even thought he wanted to protect her to every cost he knew that she was the one keeping him sane and that She was the one always protecting him.
She was close to the kooks he knew that and Rafe wasn't her only childhood friend, Kelce and Maddie had also grow up togheter and he wasn't extremely fond of the fact that they were as close as they are. Both Kelce and Maddie had made it clear in multiple occasions that there would never be anything between them except for an amazing friendship but Rafe couldn't help but to feel a little jealous when he for example picked her up over his shoulder this morning and to hold her in place he had his hand just under her but , holding onto her thighs or when he had jokingly checked her out. Cause what Rafe didn't realize what that when he had said to Kelce to not steal his girl that morning... well he sort of meant it. Without either of the realizing Rafe had actively started to "chase" away guys trying to flirt with her. At parties he always keeps to her side and was giving every guy even coming near her a look that some actually thought could kill.
Kelce and Topper had noticed this almost a year ago but didn't ask since they wanted to see what would happen, that was partly why Kelce was jokingly flirting with Maddie, to see Rafes reaction.

Maddie woke up at 11am but she didn't want to get out of bed, Why? Rafe was wrapped around her, his head resting on her chest and arms wrapped around her waist sleeping ever so peacefully. Now they used to have sleepover regularly but this was new, they had never snuggled up into each other before but Maddie didn't want to complain. She liked to take care and comfort him and it was unbelievably nice waking up next to someone who she cared so much for.
She started to play with Rafe's hair and she could feel his arms gripping on tighter around her. He groaned
- I prefer to wake up like this then to have water thrown on me
She giggled
- I don't, I still thought it was hilarious
He chuckled and she felt the vibrations going through her body.
- if you let go of me I can get up and cook some breakfast?
- ugh fine
Rafe turned over in her bed and she remembered that he had only slept in his boxers.
Maddie was down in the kitchen making them coffee and pancakes with some fruits. She felt a pair of arms wrap around her and how Rafe rested his head on her shoulder.
She first tensed up not being used to this and starting to worry if there was a reason he was so clingy. Even around her he wasn't usually this relaxed and it made her worry even more as he had never done anything like this before. She didn't say anything though as she didn't want to upset him.
- I'd almost think you're in love with me Rafe He chuckled - Yeah but then again I'm not the one burning our pancakes He laughed as Maddie looked down into the pan and saw she had burned a pancake.
Rafe walked away and sat at the kitchen island staring to drink his coffee, he had now changed and put some pants on.
- Do we have any plans for today miss? - Nit as of right now, I did hear that the pouges are throwing a party tomorrow though.. - Mads you know I don't like them - yeah but there'll be kooks to, the whole Obx is invited. Think about it alright? - mhm sure - thanks:)
As Maddie put the plate of pancakes down on the counter in front of Rafe she heard keys rattling at the front door and soon it was open... __________________________________
